Most Likely Winner: Race 6- (2) TWEET THIS

Race 1: (6) RIGHTEOUS RENEGADE has the most upside in this field of underachievers: he has top connections, comes off of a win at the distance, and is the lightest raced of this bunch, giving him the most potential here to improve. (4) PERSERVED is also lightly raced relative to this field and has put forth two very strong efforts in his two career tries at three-turns at Charles Town. (3) MERRY MERRY MOJO has taken money in recent races and appears to be in the best form of the rest.

Picks: 6-4-3

Race 2: (2) SHORTLISTER has shown speed in the past and could take this field wire-to-wire if he is able to break cleanly and be hustled to the lead; several “if’s” involved here, but worth a chance at a price. (3) FINAL TRIBUTE will figure to take money here on the class drop and due to his top connections; however, his debut was pretty uninspiring and I’ll take a pass picking him on top even though it wouldn’t be a huge shock to see him win. (1) DOESN’T MAKE CENTS has shown absolutely nothing in four career starts, but it was against much tougher at Turfway; a change in barn, surface, and track may help him at a big price.

Picks: 2-3-1

Race 3: (1) WELLING is coming off of a super impressive career best effort last time out at Pimlico; anything similar to that effort should win here, but he does make his first start over this Charles Town oval and is liable to bounce off the most recent effort. (7) NEVER COMPROMISE has done little wrong in his career so far, is 3-for-4 lifetime, and will look to keep the momentum rolling here tonight. (6) SILVER CASTLE is potentially worth a look here. He won as expected at 1-5 last time out by nine lengths against much softer, but enters a new barn tonight and stretches out to a distance that he should appreciate.

Picks: 1-7-6

Race 4: (3) MIDNIGHT FLING has the strongest work tab of the debutantes in this field and she could get the job done here at first asking if she’s ready to fire. (2) GYPSY’S IMAGE is best of the experienced runners and has recently put forward a couple of solid second place finishes over this trip. (7) LOOKIN BACK has been unimpressive in her career outings so far, but she does have a significant experience edge over the rest of the field, which should help her chances here.

Picks: 3-2-7

Race 5: (6) ANCHOR’S FIRSTLADY enters off of a win on the stretch out last time out; she will likely try to be a part of the early pace mix again and will look to make it back-to-back winning efforts. (8) ADDY’S LOVE also comes off of a win last time out and should appreciate the stretch out in distance, but she will have to work out a trip from the wide draw. (7) ELLIE BEAR is best of the rest and is in good form at the moment, but will also have to work out a trip from a bit of a tricky draw.

Picks: 6-8-7

Race 6: (2) TWEET THIS is making the drop down to maiden claimers and is strictly the one to beat on paper. (1) PRINCE LOUIS just missed by a neck last time out at this level and he draws nicely with the rail and should flaunt plenty of early speed. (3) GENESIS G G gets back to a level he should be competitive at (and a level at which he already broke his maiden before being disqualified from purse money).

Picks: 2-1-3

Race 7: (3) BELLA GIANNA returns to a distance that should be more favorable to her chances and she gets slight class relief; she should be close to the early pace and close enough late if good enough. (7) PRIME LIME gets the services of top jockey Arnaldo Bocachica and was in sharp form before the layoff, but now comes back for a trainer that’s only hitting at 9% off the bench. (8) BOSTON CADILLAC was competitive against tough company in Louisiana and now comes into Charles Town for a new barn; if she’s ready to fire off the layoff she could be in with a serious chance here.

Picks: 3-7-8

Race 8: (4) ELLIES LIL CASTLE has ran back-to-back winning efforts, but had to settle for second in both of those races; tonight, I think she finds a softer field and she should finally get that first win here. (6) SOMEDAY IS TODAY was racing against tougher at Laurel in the debut, but now comes into Charles Town for connections hitting at 20% with second time starters. (2) CASTLE REVIEW is best of the rest and draws nicely here, which should lead to a nice trip just off of the early speed.

Picks: 4-6-2
