Most Likely Winner: Race 3- (3) BOURBON STREET
Race 1: (2) TAPETE CLAIRE comes to Charles Town after facing much tougher at Laurel and makes her first start for a top barn- serious contender here off of the layoff. (1) BIRD TRAFFIC also makes her first start for new connections and should be in the mix as she finds herself going against a relatively soft field here tonight. (3) KATIE’S BAYOU has hit the board in three straight at the level and should be in the mix again here, but be cautious of using her on top as she has had an easy lead in two of her last three races and she still wasn’t able to hold on.

Race 2: (4) FIONA BELLA shows an exceptional work tab in preparation for her debut and she starts for a barn that has had some success in the past with first time starters. (3) MY PRETTY EYES is the best of the experienced runners and has six minor placings from nine career outings- her experience edge over this field may help her here. (6) MACKENZIE’S MUSIC is also a first time starter that shows a strong work tab in preparation for tonight’s debut and she starts for a barn hitting at 22% with first timers.

Race 3: (3) BOURBON STREET is the textbook kind of horse you like to see come to Charles Town to contest 4.5 furlongs- he’s shown exceptional early speed over longer races, but just can’t hold on and tires at the end. He should relish this distance and is the top pick on the card. (7) KYLE has failed three straight times against similar as a heavy favorite- he did finish second in all three though and he is in with a chance here again. (9) ON THIS DAY has had some tough trips lately, but could pick up a piece here at a big price.

Race 4: (7) I’M A TOTAL DIVA has the experience edge over this extremely lightly raced field and has hit the board in two straight against similar. (4) ELIANAGRACE is the morning line favorite on debut on the basis of a strong work tab leading up to tonight’s outing and for starting for a trainer who is 1-for-2 this year with first-time starters. (3) HOLLYWOOD BROWN had a solid debut outing last time and just missed by a nose- a step forward here and she should be right in the mix.

Race 5: (2) BEST TO BE ME looks to be the one to beat on paper and has plenty of early speed, but she’s been favored in her last four and has only won one of those races- bet with caution here. (6) STOP TALKING came strongly from off the pace to win last time out- a tough task to accomplish in a 4.5 furlong race. She makes her first start tonight for a new barn that is hitting at a 14% clip in such spots. (4) WIN THEN GRIN has strong back class from the Maryland circuit and has raced well at Charles Town in the past; the major knock here is that this distance is likely a little short for her liking.

Race 6: (8) CHARITABLY GIFTED was solid on debut and should improve here to get the job done in his second career start. (10) BIGAIRTOTHETHROWN didn’t seem to care too much for the sloppy track in his last two; it’s worth giving him another chance here. (7) SPINISH has gotten two very rough trips to begin his career- let’s give him one more chance here at a big price.

Race 7: (4) ZEP enters a new barn and tries much tougher competition, but there was a lot to like in his last race and if he can take a step forward here, he could pull the double digit upset here. (3) MORGAN COUNTY has run into some tough allowance fields lately, but this one is on the softer side and may be the spot where he finally returns to the winner’s circle. (6) BANNER MAN is similar to the top choice: coming off of a win against easier and starting for new connections tonight- also worth a look at a price.
