Race 7 – You can ignore the race conditions, if this was a G3 on Saturday not sure you would hear many complain. 1 Mile on the Turf.
1 Sole Volante – The once Derby runner has not won a race since 2020. Since then he is 0 for 17 while trying 1 Mile on dirt, as far as 1 5/8th on the Tapeta, and 4 different distances on the grass. But the last time he went 1M on the Turf at GP was his 2nd career start in the Pulpit stakes in 2019!! He looked like a million bucks that day. The slight cutback will help, but he is not beating this group.
2 (A) Mouillage – Makes his 4th Start in the US. Ran a big race in US debut last March and looked like a winner at 16th pole. Not sure what happened 2 Back and the last looked loaded through the turn in hand but when asked was a bit flat while being herded out to the center of track. Irad sticks here and Chad puts on the Blinkers. Last year was working outstanding with Adhamo, Analyze It, Public Sector, Value Engineering.
3 Bay Street Money – Has won 2 in a row since moving into Maker’s barn and does have some quality races. Has been working well with stakes placed Atone, but huge Class test here and will need to prove before I can back this one.
4 Red Danger Newly turned 4yo facing older for the first time. I do expect he will out run his odds but is up against it here. He ran some big races over this Turf Course last Spring and his last over the Tapeta was a salty group that cut the clock off in record time.
5 English Bee I have always been a fan of this one. Quality runner for Motion made his last start in May has tactical speed and now gelded. If he won here I would not be shocked. An underneath play but without some scratches he will not be on my multi-race wagers.
6 (B) Sky’s Not Falling Gelding making his 19th start today but only his 3rd Route Try. Won his last at 48-1 while 3 wide in hand, took the lead in the turn and never looked back in race horse time. Could get a similar outside stalking trip today.
7 Proven Strategies Nice runner for the Casse barn that is a overmatched today.
8 (A ) Breaking The Rules Class of the field making his 3rd start off nearly a year. Ran a big race on the Tapeta last out. Will be my Top Selection and I believe is the horse to beat
