Late Pick 5 Sequence
Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion. To be more judicious with our bankroll in 2026, I will be taking a more targeted approach in Pick 5 selections and include some win bets and doubles when the opportunities arise.
Race 6 SELECTIONS: 2 – 4
#2 Worth Considering is stepping up in class but looking for her third consecutive victory. #4 Just a Philly has not faired well lately but she drops and class and if she runs back to form today will be tough to beat.
Race 7 SELECTIONS: 7 – 5
#7 Vin Number is a three-year-old son of Girvin, homebred, first time starter for trainer Sam Wilensky. #5 Finest Gamble will also be making his racing debut in today’s seventh race; He is a son of the sire Street Boss out of a Mizzen Mast dam, his dam has produced five winners from five starters.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 7 – 8 – 1
7 Sod Siren is a well-bred filly returning from a 3 month freshening for strong connections, she is lightly raced and coming off a strong maiden breaking score. #8 Moonlight Promises returns to the surface that she broke her maiden on and jockey Javier Castellano picks up the riding assignment. #1 Thankfully won last time out and that was her first race for trainer George Weaver, she will look to have a repeat performance at a slightly higher class level.
Race 9 SELECTIONS: 5 – 7 – 3
#5 Navy Cross will get a trainer change to that of Pedro Garcia, jockey Edgard Perez has been on board for the last nine attempts and will once again be in the saddle. #7 Try to Make Cents has been a hot commodity at the claim box lately and now will make his first start for the new barn of Bobby Dibona; Javier Castellano picks up the mount. #3 Giftedbydesign has good versatile running style and will be guided by jockey Mario Gutierrez, prayer hands up that he is good to go after the scary spill on Sunday.
Race 10 SELECTIONS: 7 – 2 – 6
#7 Victoriously ran very well on debut, beating a field of 11, but then was eased in her second attempt and shows up here today at Gulfstream Park for trainer Kevin Rice. #2 Sheshimaintenance will be looking to make it five in a row. She will face tougher competition but has the grit to get the job done. #6 Z First also will put her winning streak, of two races, on the line as she also moves into deeper waters; jockey Rajiv Maragh stays aboard.
