Late Pick 5 Sequence
Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion. To be more judicious with our bankroll in 2026, I will be taking a more targeted approach in Pick 5 selections and include some win bets and doubles when the opportunities arise.
Race 6 SELECTIONS: 6 – 1 – 4
#6 Santal will be running second off the layoff at a similar level where he was beaten by a length; jockey Mario Gutierrez maintains the riding assignment. #1 Beauty Bolt has been very solid at this level since moving to the barn of Michael Larman; jockey Micah Husbands stays aboard. #4 River of Time is dropping in class and is also shortening up to a sprint distance for new trainer Joseph Orseno; jockey Tyler Gaffalione picks up the mount.
Race 7 SELECTIONS: 3
#3 Worth Considering should be considered a solid contender in a field of fillies and mares who give it their all but are not quite as good as she is and has the potential to be in today’s 7th. She should get a good stalking trip; jockey Miguel Vasquez maintains the mount.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 3 – 5 – 6
#3 Ironsides will have a better than average opportunity for the victory. Jockey change to Mario Gutierrez, who is more than capable of the ground saving trip that will move this average runner up to contender status. #5 Ruse is a eight-year-old veteran who does her best running late in the lane and the anticipated hot pace makes her one of the ones. #6 Bite and Strike is a viable option based on her talent and the fact that she is getting some class and distance relief.
Race 9 SELECTIONS: 2 – 7
#2 Stars and Stripes is a very logical win contender, if you throw out his last race which was at a higher class level; running second off the layoff. #7 Freedom Road does not have the early speed as the favorites but will be sitting just off the pace and with the added distance makes him very capable of the upset. Excited to play this one… stay away CAWs!
Race 10 SELECTIONS: 8 – 10
#8 Ready to Battle makes her return to the races after shipping up from Woodbine for the red-hot Casse barn; she is dropping in class and gets Johnny V in the irons. # 10 Mary Marguerite was caught wide on both turns last time out, rider change to Tyler Gaffalione, trainer David Fawkes’s stat’s are hotter than fish grease at the cookout, should improve.
