Late Pick 5 Sequence
Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion. To be more judicious with our bankroll in 2026, I will be taking a more targeted approach in Pick 5 selections and include some win bets and doubles when the opportunities arise.
Race 7 SELECTIONS: 11 – 2 – 6
#11 Will of a Warrior does his best running late which is not always the best quality to have when running on the synthetic, but jockey Tyler Gaffalione did a good job last time and we will look for another here in today’s 7th. #2 Four Top didn’t have a great trip last time he tried the All-Weather surface but has good tactical speed and gets a favorable inside post position. #6 Navy Cross is a gate to wire threat.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 7
#7 Steeze showed an affinity for Gulfstream Park last time out as he was able to stalk and pounce. Will be stepping up in class after breaking his maiden but running at the same distance and surface, retaining the same jockey.
Race 9 SELECTIONS: 4 – 2 – 8 – 6
#4 Seminole Chief will be running second off a long layoff, has a strong resume of tough competition last year. #2 Classic of Course is a good tactical runner who will get some class relief; jockey Junior Alvarado stays aboard. #8 Neoequos will attempt the turf for the first time after his early success on the Derby trail and unsuccessful early pace presence in the Derby; we know that he has great speed and his pedigree has some turf influence. #6 Adios Cole is a hard-trying closer that should benefit from a projected contentious pace.
Race 10 SELECTIONS: 1
#1 Damon’s Mound will look to make it back to back victories as he won this race last year and should do it once again; he is coming in off a two-month layoff and is training well.
Race 11 SELECTIONS: 7 – 10 – 2
#7 Bessamay will make his fourth career start today for trainer Brian Lynch, he has not run a bad race and has the pedigree and talent to be very competitive in today’s finale. #10 Limited Edition will make his second start for trainer Phillip Antonacci, after a good come back race, jockey David Egan retains the mount. #2 Skyrush is a four-year-old first time starter sired by Vekoma who has been training well on the turf.
