Gulfstream Park – Late Pick 5 Sequence – Saturday (March 28, 2026) – John Pinder

Late Pick 5 Sequence

Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion.  To be more judicious with our bankroll in 2026, I will be taking a more targeted approach in Pick 5 selections and include some win bets and doubles when the opportunities arise.

Race 10 SELECTIONS:   5 – 8 – 3

#5 Tam Tam took four races to break her maiden but the breakthrough came when she moved over to the turf, jockey Junior Alvarado picks up the mount.  #8 Laigina has good tactical front running speed and has already shown her ability to handle the sometimes tricky distance of 7.5 Furlongs.  #3 Vekoma View has also answered the question about the distance as she took them gate to wire last time out.

Race 11 SELECTIONS:   2 – 4 – 3

#2 Pentathlon is a well traveled 5 year-old son of Speightstown that is in good form for trainer Claude McGaughey.  #4 Concrete Glory has great early speed and has the ability to take them gate to wire.  #3 Scotland will look to employ the exact opposite tactic and based on the likely number of front runners he should have a good pace setup.

Race 12 SELECTIONS:   3 – 4

#3  Sweet Rebecca will be running second off the layoff for strong connections and has an affinity for Gulfstream Park.  #4 Hang the Moon can close like a rocket and showed last time out that she has the ability to be more tactical.

Race 13 SELECTIONS:   8 – 9

#8 Echo Lane will team up again with jockey Edwin Gonzalez in a turf marathon attempt, last month they narrowly missed in a Grade 2.  #9 Dancin in Da’nile ships in from Woodbine for trainer Gail Cox.  This seven-year-old gelding is a long distance specialist that could give us our payout the pop it needs;  I like that jockey Junior Alvarado will be aboard.

Race 14 SELECTIONS:   4 – 2 – 6

#4 Commandment has been nothing short of victorious.  He won two of the major preps leading up to today’s paramount feature and will look to stamp his passport to Louisville.  #2  Chief Wallabee will look to keep progressing towards the first Saturday in May.  In only two starts he has shown great speed and quality, and he is a very likely winner.  #6 Nearly won impressively last time in the Holy Bull and will face tougher competition today but is definitely not without a chance.

Today’s pick 5 ticket $.50 base (post scratches) :  3, 5, 8 / 2, 3, 4  / 3, 4 / 8, 9  / 2, 4, 6        cost: $54
