Gulfstream Park – Late Pick 5 Sequence – Sunday (February 08, 2026) – John Pinder

Late Pick 5 Sequence

Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion.  To be more judicious with our bankroll in 2026, I will be taking a more targeted approach in Pick 5 selections and include some win bets and doubles when the opportunities arise.

Race 6 SELECTIONS:  10 – 4

#10 Ice Chocolat is trained by Mark Casse and will be ridden by jockey Irad Ortiz. So, you know we won’t get a price but this eight-year-old gelding fits perfect in this spot and should be ready to go off the 3 months rest.  #4 Nantasket Beach should get a good pace setup to use his stalk and pounce tactics, I also like the fact that Johnny V. gets back aboard.

Race 7 SELECTIONS:   8 – 7

#8 Mainstream will make his return to the races for trainer Brad Cox after a six-month absence, he has good versatility and on paper looks to have a natural speed advantage.  #7 First Call Bob is a first-time starter sired by Uncle Mo out of a Tapit mare, this Chad Brown trainee has been training well.

Race 8 SELECTIONS:   7 – 1 – 10

#7 Boat’s a Rockin is a nine-year-old gelding that is showing no signs of slowing down, he is in great form and will be making his first start for new trainer Bobby Dibona.  #1 Shape Note has not been out of the exacta in his last five races.   #10 Itza Boss is also a very competitive runner who should be helped by the multiple scratches, be cause he wont have to be so wide.

Race 9 SELECTIONS:  1

#1 Neom City has just the right amount of speed and stamina to get the job done in today’s ninth.

Race 10 SELECTIONS:   9 – 8 – 1

#9 Credit History has a good closing late kick that makes him very competitive here, evident by his near miss last time out at a similar level.  #8 West End Kid is a first-time starter sired by Twirling Candy, for trainer William Walden.   #1 Hayden Remembered is a first-time starter trained by Tareq Moubarak, whose barn does well with turf debut runners.

Today’s pick 5 ticket $.50 base (post scratches) :  4,10 / 7,8 / 1,7,10 / 1 / 1,8,9    cost:  $18

Race 9:                   $5 Double 1 with 1,8,9   cost: $15

Total Cost:          $33
