Late Pick 5 Sequence
Race selections provided are in the mindset of playing the Pick 5 sequence as a whole; runners are placed in the order of most likely winner, in my humble opinion. To be more judicious with our bankroll in 2026, I will be taking a more targeted approach in Pick 5 selections and include some win bets and doubles when the opportunities arise.
Race 7 SELECTIONS: 9 – 6 – 1
#9 Canaletto is a first-time starter that was purchased for one million dollars, that along with the strong connections, this son of Into Mischief is a must include and we will look for prices later in the sequence. #6 Autobahn will make his second career start after running well early and flattening late, should improve off of that effort. #1 Spartacus is a first-time starter, son of the sire Curlin, trained by Chad Brown and will be ridden by Johnny V.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 5 – 1
#5 Maruvy drops in class after trying the turf for the first time in his last race. The effort was not bad and he was chasing a hot pace, I don’t anticipate that type of speed here today. #1 Cousin Ed returns to the surface that he is much better at and should get a ground saving trip on the inside.
Race 9 SELECTIONS: 3 – 2
#3 Uncle John is a perfect two for two since moving over to the All-Weather surface and will take advantage of his early pace leverage. #2 Nate the Great has the ability to make up ground on the All-Weather and we know that he will have a target up front.
Race 10 SELECTIONS: 7
#7 Billal has good tactical speed and should be closing strong in today’s feature. We will use him as our single in the sequence; jockey Junior Alvarado maintains the mount.
Race 11 SELECTIONS: 7 – 5 – 11
#1 Just So Pretty returns from a four-month layoff for trainer Danny Gargan. With her inside post and jockey Joel Resario, she should get a good stalking trip. #7 Icona is a Ireland bred filly that will make her US debut for trainer Brendan Walsh. She gets Lasix for the first time and the riding services of Tyler Gaffalione. #6 Via Veneto has created problems for herself that has hindered her ability to get to the winner’s circle, but she has talent.
