Idea for Race 5 at Santa Anita on February 19, 2021

By @blinkersoff420

Race 5              Fillies and Mares – Md 50000 (50-45) – Turf – 1 1/8 Miles – 4 ^

Both pick 5 sequences use race number 5 to either cash or kickoff the bet. Maiden races are always tough, and my philosophy is standard when betting. When a horse really catches my eye then a single is in play, if not, then spreading is the way to go. Today is a single and below is my case for a horse who has already won me over.

#1 – Let’s Go Now (6-1)

TFE: 116 TFL: 68

If you have read any previous writes up from my light bulb popping brain you know my quick reference to determine pace is to look at the TimeFormUS pace figures, which are listed above. These can be found on some forms of Class DRF past performances as well the TimeFormUs website, which has many tools to use.

On paper it is beyond obvious Let’s Go Now has a speed advantage if Tyler Blaze chooses to use it. Previously not winning at one mile might deter bettors right away but digging a bit and watching replays gives reasoning to use as a single.

When chatting with a connected partner to the horse, C.J. Johnsen, he brought up her journey which has led to the west coast. After a CLOSING run debuting, she was injured while training on the dirt. With her best interests in mind, she shipped up to Woodbine to race on the synthetic track. After paralyzing her throat from being worked up and overcoming it she now has found a home on the west coast. C.J. spoke highly of Let’s Go Now and thinks the potential is there for her to be a winning horse.

Today when you are watching race 5 at Santa Anita make the best bets you think are possible, as well though realize it is not all cake when you see a horse entered in a race. Like humans, they all have a story.

#1 Let’s Go Now (6-1) Single in Pick 5 and Win Bet if odds suggest to doing so.
