In the Money Media Launches a Stronach 5 Podcast

Another day, another press release! In the Money Media are very happy to be launching a new betting-centric podcast focusing on the Stronach 5 that is detailed below in the actual release. We are very excited to have the chance to do a show that gets into the ins-and-outs of ticket construction, relying heavily on the Barry Meadow/Steven Crist ideas about using “main contenders” and “backups” to create more efficient tickets that accurately reflect horseplayers’ opinions.

While I’m here, I also wanted to let folks know a little about our company,

Founded in early 2019, In the Money Media is a podcast-centered media company but we also act as consultants for racing entities looking to get more in touch with their best customers’ needs. So far we have worked with industry leaders like the Breeders’ Cup, Keeneland, the Jockey Club, NYRA, Woodbine, Monmouth Park, The Stronach Group, Churchill Downs, and many more.

It’s our goal through our programming — which includes our flagship In the Money Players’ Podcast, the Matt Bernier Show, the industry-focused  In the Ring Pedigree Podcast, and the handicapping show Redboard Rewind — to bring together the sometimes disparate groups of stakeholders who make up horse racing — horseplayers, horse owners, horsemen, and racetrack operators.

Stronach 5 to be Featured Weekly on

LAUREL, MD –The Stronach 5, a fast-paced, national wager featuring Thoroughbred racing every Friday from as many as four Stronach Group tracks, will be the subject of a new weekly show on In the Money Media Network beginning Thursday, Feb. 6.

The Stronach 5 In The Money Players’ Podcast, hosted by Jonathan Kinchen and Peter Thomas Fornatale, will educate horseplayers on handicapping fundamentals and value-oriented ticket construction.

Weekly shows will be posted by 2 p.m. each Thursday at and will be available on iTunes and other major podcast distributors.

Players can find weekly entries, updates, results and additional handicapping tools on twitter @1stBet #Stronach5.

Since debuting in September of 2018, the Stronach 5 has consistently provided bettors with an excellent return on investment.

“We believe that the Stronach 5 is the best bet in racing,” said co-host Jonathon Kinchen. “The low takeout and the $1 minimum are a breath of fresh air for horseplayers, and the pacing and variety of the bet add to the entertainment value.”

Said co-host Peter Thomas Fornatale, “This show will afford us an opportunity to go deep into concepts like ticket construction, bankroll management, and creating efficient wagers.”

This week’s Stronach 5 features races from Laurel Park, Santa Anita Park, Gulfstream Park and Golden Gate Fields. The five-race sequence kicks off at Laurel 3:50 p.m. and will feature a $100,000 guaranteed pool and industry-low 12-percent takeout.

The minimum wager on the multi-race, multi-track Stronach 5 is $1. If there are no tickets with five winners, the entire pool will be carried over to the next Friday.

If a change in racing surface is made after the wagering closes, each selection on any ticket will be considered a winning selection. If a betting interest is scratched, that selection will be substituted with the favorite in the win pool when wagering closes.

The Maryland Jockey Club serves as host of the Stronach 5.
