Maiden Focus for Keeneland (Saturday, April 17)

0-for-1 on Thursday, with DING DING running third @ 7/2 odds. Honorable mention KAUFYMAKER won impressively at even-money.

Keeneland – Race 3

#5 DIFFERENTBUTOK (8/1 ml)

Second-time starter for Ignacio Correas set the pace @ 12/1 odds in his Fair Grounds debut before giving way to winning barnmate GHOSTING KIM, who returned to win an allowance race here yesterday at almost 15/1 odds. Note also that rider James Graham was aboard GHOSTING KIM for each of those wins, and now gets the call here. The time of their common Fair Grounds race looks a little slow (resulting in the 8/1 morning line, along with GHOSTING KIM’s big odds yesterday) due to the rain-softened course, but the time of that race matched up pretty well with an allowance/optional claimer that was run a few races later over the same course/distance. Looks live here.

Keeneland – Race 6

#3 COFFEE BREAK (10/1 ml)

First-time starter for Brian Lynch worked with MUNNYFOR RO back on Feb 9 at Palm Meadows, from which MUNNYFOR RO emerged to run a close third behind the good stakes-level runner WORLD TOUR, before winning her subsequent start right here at Keeneland last week (under rider John Velazquez, who has been named to ride here). Next up, COFFEE BREAK worked twice in a row with 4yo barnmate TAKE CHARGE RO, who was last seen winning at Gulfstream in mid-January. Following that, COFFEE BREAK worked with 5yo barnmate GOLDEN CURL, who is 3-for-12 lifetime. Certainly appears well-meant here with Velazquez in the saddle, and could be a big price.

Maiden Focus record:
Win record: 31-for-124 (25% winners)
Total mutuels: $261.60 ($8.44 average win price)
