Maiden Focus for Keeneland (Thursday, April 15)

0-for-1 on Wednesday, as WARRIOR WORRIER went off @ 7/1 but never challenged.

Keeneland – Race 3

#4 DING DING (4/1 ml)

Very promising entrant for trainer John Ennis and rider James Graham, who have already scored a pair of front-running wins in this year’s baby races with BOHEMIAN FROST and SHESGOTATTITUDE. DING DING started off her work pattern by posting a pair of heads-up drills with BOHEMIAN FROST, who showed big speed in her debut on Opening Day ( replay available here: https://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/race-replays/0/202104021304KED1/ ). Following that, she worked with SHESGOTATTITUDE, who won sharply last week (replay available here: https://www.thoroughbreddailynews.com/race-replays/0/202104081338KED2/ ) before later working with that one again in a best-of-32 drill right here @ Keeneland. Just impossible not to like DING DING here based on the way her workmates have performed, and she should offer good value as the likely third betting choice or even higher. Strong play.

I must also mention the Ward entrant KAUFYMAKER (3/1 ml), whom you may remember I picked last Wednesday ( write-up available here: https://www.patreon.com/posts/49737092 ). In that race, KAUFYMAKER had been bet down to even-money before flipping in the paddock and being scratched. Also of note, I mentioned in last week’s write-up that KAUFYMAKER was a filly entered vs. colts (she’s entered vs. fillies today), so it probably should be noted that Ward’s sharp second-place finisher from yesterday (HAPPY SOUL) was also a filly racing against colts. I do expect KAUFYMAKER to run well today (and perhaps go favored), but must side with DING DING for the reasons mentioned above. Would be looking at exactas as well.
