Nick Luck Daily Ep 344 – Who will lead Europe’s Breeders’ Cup charge?

Nick is joined by RTE and Racing TV broadcaster Jane Mangan to discuss the day’s national and international Horseracing news. They lead today with a response to the Breeders’ Cup pre-entries that were released late yesterday, with 56 Internationals among the 196-strong entry. Nick talks to trainer Dave Loughnane, responsible for two interesting two year old entrants, Go Bears Go and Hello You. Nick and Jane also cast an eye over the racing at Down Royal this weekend, consider the significance of Davy Russell resuming his partnership with Envoi Allen, respond to Richie Forristal’s Racing Post article about weighing room culture, and discuss Fergal O’Brien’s complaint against veterinary procedures at Cheltenham. Later in the show, Nick talks to British-born rider Rachel King, who has her first ride in the Melbourne Cup next week, and to Debbie Hay, the Chief Executive of Take the Reins, about racing’s involvement as part of Black History Month at Lingfield Park this weekend.
