Nick Luck Daily Ep 474 – Keeping your Cachet

Nick is joined by Daily Mirror Newsboy David Yates to discuss the latest news and developments from around the horseracing world. Reflecting on both Guineas, a spectacular weekend for rider James Doyle and casting an eye forward to Derby trials and Royal Ascot, they check in with Cachet’s trainer George Boughey and Hyde Park Stud’s John Bourke, who purchased the dam of the Classic winner in foal to Aclaim for just 3,000 gns. Later in this edition, Nick catches up with Ralph Beckett, who trained that mare, ironically handled the runner-up Prosperous Voyage, and who has strong words in his role as NTF President about the need to prune race numbers in a bid to boost competitiveness and field sizes.
