Nick Luck Daily Ep 580 – Graffard fuming over Elleegant fiasco

Nick is joined by RTE and Racing TV analyst Jane Mangan to discuss the latest news and events from around the racing world today. The build up to the Arc continues to be dominated by the unusually large field size and the prospect of profile horses Verry Elleegant and La Parisienne missing the cut. Verry Elleegant’s trainer Francis Graffard expresses his dissatisfaction in the strongest possible terms as he brands the handicapper’s decision to drop his mare “ridiculous”. Nick and Jane are at the Goffs Orby Sale, where a record price for a yearling in 2022 was set yesterday by Blackbeard’s full sister. Nick catches up with Middleham Park’s Tom Palin, who discusses The Platinum Queen’s run in Sunday’s Prix de l’Abbaye and Johnny Hassett of the Bloodstock connection, whose personal journey through illness has led him to develop the “Get in the Game” sales syndicate. Rod Street talks to Nick about the new GBRI campaign to Invest in the Best, while JA McGrath brings his weekly update from Hong Kong, and worrying news of top rider Joao Moreira.
