Tom Stanley in for Nick and joined by RTE, ITV and RTV broadcaster Jane Mangan to discuss some big news out of Coolmore over the last 24 course. First we turn to the passing of the champion miler Rock Of Gibraltar at the age of 23 and hear from Mick Kinane who rode him for all bar one of his thirteen starts. We then discuss the news that Middle Park winner Blackbeard has been retired after an injury on the gallops and will therefore not run in the Breeders’ Cup Juvenile Sprint. We head to Australia and hear from trainer Graeme Rogerson who sends out Sharp ’N’ Smart in this weekend’s Victoria Derby at Flemington just 7 days after his Spring Champion Stakes win. And there’s plenty of news from the bloodstock world including our regular Weatherbys segment where we hear from Kathleen Holmes about her plan to make a stallion out of Midnights Legacy, the last son of Midnight Legend.
