AQUEDUCT – 4/8/22

RACE 1: 1-5-4-2

#1 BOLD VICTORY goes second off a claim by trainer Linda Rice and returns off a lengthy layoff dropping in class.  He has run well against better and should be a serious late player today as a heavy favorite.

RACE 2: 5-2-7

#5 KING KUMBALAY is the best dirt horse left in the small field and should be in control of this race from the start.

RACE 3: 1-3-4-9

The pedigree on #1 SALT CAY is interesting enough to land here as this gelding is a half to Long Haul Bay, a stakes winner for this barn.  The worktab is solid and is enough to keep you from worrying about the tricky inside post.

RACE 4: 6-1-5-2

#6 PROFUSION is first off a claim by Jeff Englehart, who has had a productive winter and now spring with these types.  He has good tactical speed and now cuts back in distance, which should help him in the closing stages.

RACE 5: 7-6-5-1

#7 MY FIRST GRAMMY faced a considerably tougher field for 40k last time out.  He drops in class today and can be in a stalking position from the start.  This is also a serious upgrade at pilot with Dylan Davis astride.

RACE 6: 7-11-2

#7 MORE AMMO is a firster from the barn of Chad Brown who appears to be training forwardly for his unveiling.  There’s a number of winners on the damside and the remaining runners in here hardly inspire confidence.

RACE 7: 3-5-7-8

#3 ELECTABILITY goes 2nd off a layoff and took to the dirt quite nicely last time out with a game win.  He goes 2nd off a layoff today and has plenty of upside for a red-hot barn.  The speed he showed last time out is encouraging to boot.

RACE 8: 1-6-3-7

Between slow paces and inside trips, #1 SHADOLAMO has been disadvantaged in her last two starts.  She is a candidate to improve here going back to the mile distance and should have a forward position.  The price will be plenty attractive as well for a low percentage conditioner.

AQUEDUCT SPRING STATS: 16: 3-7-1 $12.50
