AQUEDUCT – 2/13/2021
RACE 1: 4-2-1-6
#4 DARK MONEY appears to be a heavy favorite and likely winner in the opener. The lead is his for the taking and he has routinely run races that are much faster than the best efforts his competition has ever put forth.
RACE 2: 2-5-4-6
#2 AFLEETING GLANCE lost her rider at the start last time out in a race where she was a solid favorite. She faces an even weaker field here with confirmed pace signed on, so look for her in the late stages.
RACE 3: 5-6-7
In a particularly weak field, even for the level, #5 ROYAL SUSPECT looks like an obvious choice. He was a game 2ndmost recently in his first start off a short break and now figures to get an ideal stalking trip.
RACE 4: 2-4-6-5
Trainer Mark Hennig is in the midst of a strong meet and is 17% overall with 2nd time starting maidens in dirt routes ($2.45 ROI) so #2 AURANNIAN offers some appeal. She was wide much of the way on debut and the rail was the place to be for much of that card.
RACE 5: 6-7-1-5
#6 DANEBURY is the one to catch as he goes second off a layoff following a 6 furlong try that seemingly increased his fitness. The best races this son of Super Saver has run make him a major contender and he’ll be an attractive price today.
RACE 6: 1-2-4-3
#1 REGGAE MUSIC MAN has unfortunately drawn the inside again, but it likely won’t be the disadvantage today that it was on January 21. If he can settle and make one run, similar to his trip on debut, he’ll be tough to beat.
RACE 7: 2-3-4-6
There might be just enough pace to setup the late bid of #10 VICAR’S LEGEND. The 6YO stalwart has run two improved races of late and now gets some class relief facing 10k sellers, albeit open company foes.
RACE 8: 4-5-8-9
Trainer Linda Rice is sure to scratch a runner or two in here and that will have a major impact on the outcome. #4 RAGTIME BLUES is new to John Terranova’s barn and ran races early in his 3YO season that would make him a player in this spot. Perhaps the time off and change of scenery can do him some good.
RACE 9: 5-7-12-11
#5 FOREST SPIRIT returns from a break today and didn’t get a fair shot in his last dirt start. He raced wide on a day where you wanted to be inside and now changes surfaces for a barn that has had a very strong meet.
