Nick Tammaro’s Aqueduct Analysis – Friday, February 19

AQUEDUCT – 2/19/2021

RACE 1: 4-3-6-1

#4 VOICE OF SPRING ran the best race of her brief career in her lone try on a fast track.  She may not get one today, but looms a major player on a significant class drop as she now faces much weaker competition.

RACE 2: 7-1-2

#7 LA NEGRITA made a prolonged wide move last time out to rally gamely into a pace that collapsed.  She faced much tougher competition that afternoon and gets major class relief 2nd off a claim.

RACE 3: 4-5-3

#4 MISSION WRAPITUP returns off a layoff for a barn that does well with fresh horses (23%, $2.30 ROI 100-200 day layoffs in claimers on dirt).  He has the versatility to lay close early and will offer value.

RACE 4: 1-3-7

#1 DOYOUKNOWHOIAM is the one to catch from the inside off an intermediate layoff, and she ran a race on debut against open company that would likely win this event.  Look for her to be ridden aggressively today.

RACE 5: 5-3-4-1

The inside trip endured by #5 STUNNING MUNNINGS last time out likely worked against her, and she now goes 2ndoff a layoff.  This is a reasonable spot class-wise in which she can get a bit more involved early.

RACE 6: 2-1-3

#2 TIMED OUT was beaten as a heavy favorite last time out with no significant excuse other than that she moved a tad early into a hot pace.  She should make amends 2nd off the bench in a race loaded with speed.

RACE 7: 7-4-1/1A

#7 TOO EARLY is the Linda Rice entrant you prefer in here given the likelihood he’ll be a much bigger price than #4 COLD HARD CASH.  The former is better going a tad shorter and exits a solid effort.

RACE 8: 1-7-4-5

#1 SPITBALL was wide last time out on an afternoon where staying inside was an advantage.  He figures to be a pace threat today and takes a key class drop from 25k down to the bottom.
