AQUEDUCT – 1/27/22

RACE 1: 9-7-1-5

#9 NECROMANCER had the double whammy of a wide trip and a strong pace to chase last time out when 5th against better.  The class drop provides a new spot for him to show his very best, as he belongs at the bottom level.

RACE 2: 3-1-2-4

#3 SCENIC VIEW ran quite well in her lone dirt start going long in Kentucky and deserves a second look here on the surface change.  We’ve seen this barn heat up in recent days and she looks like a good fit in terms of running style.

RACE 3: 2-1/1A-5-3

#2 EXOTIC WEST was 7-1 in the Ladies last time out and lost her rider at the start.  This is a reasonable spot class-wise and she figures to get a decent pace setup over a wet track.  She has previously performed well on surfaces with moisture.

RACE 4: 4-6-3-8

#4 CAGNEY was wide last time out on a day where you wanted to save as much ground as possible.  That was this gelding’s first start on dirt and he ran well enough given the trip.  He figures to offer value today with Trevor McCarthy getting in the irons.

RACE 5: 4-2-1-3

The speed of #4 EVERYONELOVESLINDA makes her the one to beat here getting Lasix in her first start as a 3YO.  She showed real promise as a juvenile in this barn and was disadvantaged by an inside trip on a hot pace last time out.

RACE 6: 6-8-4-5

#6 MACHO BOY is a threat to go the distance in this spot after chasing a hot pace last time out and settling for third place dough.  There’s significantly less speed in this spot and his rider has heated up in recent days.  If he gets loose he just might forget to quit.

RACE 7: 1-4-2-6

#1 CINDERELLA’S CAUSE goes first off a claim and exits a barn from which new trainers have done very well with claims.  This filly showed potential earlier in her career and it’s great to see the confidence by new trainer Chris Englehart.  He’s moving this gal into the N1X ranks right away.

RACE 8: 5-9-3-7

#5 HOT STEPPER made a big move up a dead rail last time out before coming up short late.  He now returns at the same trip and he handled the class jump facing winners for the first time without issue.  He’ll be a square price in a competitive field.

RACE 8: 2-3-1-7

The solid effort off the claim and class jump from #2 CRYPTO CASH last time out is encouraging.  Now in the hands of a high percentage trainer, he can bridge the gap between this son of Majesticperfection and Supreme Aura, who bested him last out.
