AQUEDUCT – 1/14/22

RACE 1: 5-6-7-3

#5 DARIO’S ANGEL dropped in for a tag for the first time last time out and immediately improved.  She got involved in a hot pace before grudgingly giving way late and now adds blinkers.  The lead is hers for the taking as one of the choices here.

RACE 2: 2-7-4

The lead looks as if it will go to #2 ALCOOLS as he drops a notch in class with Kendrick Carmouche on board.  He has done well against tougher in recent tries and this barn has quietly heated up of late.  Look for him to get involved right from the outset.

RACE 3: 1-7-5

#1 KHULUQ winning here is a fait accompli based on form as this daughter of Bernardini improved at second asking enough to finish a good second behind an impressive winner.  She should stalk and pounce today, but is capable of getting loose if the opportunity presents itself.

RACE 4: 3-5-7-2

The price on #3 CARTWHEEL will hardly be attractive, but she is the one to beat on a big class drop for Mertkan Kantarmaci.  She was well off a hot pace last time out before making a decent late move to round out the trifecta.  With a similar effort she’ll be tough to beat.

RACE 5: 7-3-1-5

#6 OUR MAN MIKE was pace compromised last time out in a race with a particularly moderate early pace.  There’s a good bit of pace signed on in here and you’ll get a square price on this son of Street Boss.  He is in good form and retains a strong-finishing pilot.

RACE 6: 7-3-4-6

#7 FEATHERS ROAD shortens up in distance after checking in a good second last time out going a mile.  This is his third start off a layoff for trainer Linda Rice and he’ll be a good price at the windows as well.  The quicker they go early, the better for this son of Quality Road.

RACE 7: 8-4-6-5

#8 TWO THIRTY FIVE drops in class after being pace compromised last time out.  He can be effective at this level and will be an attractive price as well.  The biggest issue last time out was his particularly slow break from the gate, so a cleaner beginning will help his cause.

RACE 8: 1-4-2B-8

#1 SEVEN LILIES did everything but win last time out and figures to be a strong late player once again in this spot.  He is likely better going a bit shorter, but the pace setup will be there for him to handle the mile distance.  His trainer is having a very strong winter and this one should be a short price and major win candidate.

RACE 9: 8-12-11-14

#8 EUDAIMONIA is an interesting entrant here getting some class relief after consecutive tries on wet tracks.  She was compromised by a wide trip last time out on a day where inside speed reigned supreme.  This is a positive jockey change as well.
