AQUEDUCT – 3/11/22

RACE 1: 4-1-6-3

#4 BINKSTER takes an enormous class drop for trainer Luis Miranda after facing much tougher in his last two outings.  He should get a good trip from just off the pace and is the right alternative to the favorites from a price perspective.

RACE 2: 4-3-1-6

#6 ROYAL REALM is a tough favorite to look past in this spot after failing last time out when wide on the course.  The rail was the place to be that afternoon and this son of Empire Maker lost ground the entire way.  He can rebound here second off the claim by Mertkan Kantarmaci.

RACE 3: 5-6-7-3

The drop in class for #5 SALUTE TO AMERICA is significant, as he is in for a tag for the first time.  His most recent outing came on a wet track and he was no match for the eventual winner.  That runner came back to compete credibly in the Gotham last weekend.

RACE 4: 3-2-1-7

There is no glory in taking heavy favorites like #3 BELLA PRINCIPESSA, but she towers over this field on speed figures.  She moves up a notch in class but faces a particularly weak bunch for this level and should be in position from the start.  All signs point to her being a Pick 5 single.

RACE 5: 9-3-2-6

#9 BAVARIAN CRÈME is drawn favorably on the outside and raced wide last time out on a day where the rail was the place to be.  She should improve with some experience and will be a square price in this competitive affair.  Trainer Mark Hennig has quietly had a good winter.

RACE 6: 4-3-2-7

#4 DONEGAL BAY drops in class for trainer Ray Handal and returns off a layoff here.  He was last seen against tougher in Kentucky on the Tapeta strip and deserves another shot on dirt.  This barn has had a tremendous winter and this son of Uncle Mo and he has the speed to get involved from the start.

RACE 7: 1-7-5-3

#1 SHALIMAR GARDENS is strictly the one to beat and looks like an overwhelming favorite in this affair.  She was beaten at 1-5 last time out but had the misfortune of racing wide on a day where the rail was strong.  She should be tough to handle today.

RACE 8: 3-5-8-13

Why not try a bomb like #3 PLAYMAGGIEFORMEThis daughter of Giant Surprise was close to the rail last time out on a day when outside runners dominated.  She drops a notch in class while in light once again and figures to improve simply by facing softer.
