Nick Tammaro’s Aqueduct Analysis – Monday, February 8

AQUEDUCT – 2/8/2021

RACE 1: 3-1-5

#3 WILL E SUTTON looks to be a solid favorite as his stablemate was seemingly entered here to make the race go.  He is well bred and is training forwardly.

RACE 2: 2-6-1-5

Trainer Linda Rice has limited starters on dirt off of 365+ day breaks but is 2-3 in that category over the last 5 years ($3.67 ROI).  #2 LADDIE LIAM was running races as a 2YO that are fast enough to contend in this spot.

RACE 3: 5-1-2

#5 GULF COAST was scratched out of the Suncoast to run here instead and looks to be a talented sprinter in line to get a big pace setup.  She will have to improve but looks to be the easiest to trust.

RACE 4: 1-6-5

#1 MO DESSERTS was bet down to 9/2 on debut in a competitive heat and ran a good race to be third.  She figures to benefit from having that race behind her and is the top pick in a two-horse race.

RACE 5: 5-2-4-1

#5 EXCESS CAPACITY has been facing considerably better in Maryland and is a pace threat in her return to the Big A.  This has been her favorite surface over the years and you’ll get some value here to boot.

RACE 6: 4-5-7-1

#4 FREEDOM PASSAGE got into traffic trouble when moving up a bad rail last time out behind a white-hot victor.  She is the right horse price-wise in a very competitive affair.

RACE 7: 6-1-3-2

#6 BACKSIDEOFTHEMOON is strictly the one to beat on the class drop as he will get Lasix again today.  There’s a dearth of early speed in here and he figures to be in line to benefit given the zip shown two back.

RACE 8: 2-1-3-8

#2 PERSIAN QUEEN cuts back in distance and drops in class for trainer Bob Klesaris, whose barn has heated up of late.  She needs some pace help but will be a square price.

STATS: 25-7-4-4  $48.40
