AQUEDUCT – 2/27/2021
RACE 1: 1A-6-4
#1A MAKE OR BREAK drops in class and is in decent form for the underrated barn of Mertkan Kantarmaci. She has the speed to stay close in this spot and there’s a dearth of early zip signed up.
RACE 2: 6-3-2-4
The ability shown on debut by #6 ONE GLAMOROUS GAL is enough to consider her a heavy favorite and likely winner. This barn does well with second timers and she meets softer foes dropping in for a tag.
RACE 3: 3-2-5
Until dethroned, #3 MR. BUFF is the king of the winter handicap scene at the Big A. He figures to notch another score here given the pace scenario and competition in this event.
RACE 4: 3-1/1A-7-9
This is the right spot class-wise for #3 TRI SAINT LORENZO, who is a good fit at this 7 furlong distance as well. Look for him to be able to lay back and make one run given the likelihood of an honest pace.
RACE 5: 4-2-6
#4 TOUGH WORKOUT is a home bred son of Outwork out of a dam who scored on debut. She dropped multiple NY bred winner Microscope, so there’s reason to believe this colt can be ready at first asking.
RACE 6: 4-1/1A-3
#4 HAVE A HEART represents low percentage connections, but has the best and most consistent speed figures of anyone in this race and should be a major stretch threat. Provided the track is fair he’s a serious player.
RACE 7: 7-2-4
#7 VIKING ZIM is a firster by Mshawish, whose progeny score on debut at a 20% clip. This colt worked :21 and 2/5 at the sale last year and has 3 siblings to win from 4 to race. The dam was also a winner.
RACE 8: 9-11-10
#9 FRANKIE BARONE was wide the whole way last time out when facing tougher competition and now drops in class and cuts back a furlong. He should get some pace to run at in here and will be a square price.
RACE 9: 10-4-9-11
#10 TASSI debuted against tougher competition and now returns off a break with Lasix. She was close to the inside that day and that was not the place to be, so an outside stalking trip will help her cause in here.
