AQUEDUCT – 3/13/2021
RACE 1: 2-7-4
#2 B C GLORY DAYS has snatched defeat from the jaws of victory in two straight outings. He should clear the maiden ranks today and will be a heavy favorite to get the job done.
RACE 2: 6-1-8
Not a bad time to try #6 QUEENDOM as she cuts back in distance following a respectable effort two months ago at a mile. She has shown increased early foot of late, and trainer Carlos Martin is now removing the blinkers. Look for her in the late stages of this affair.
RACE 3: 3-1/1A-5
#3 BACK CHANNEL has had brushes with victory in the past, only to fall short and now sport a 0-5 record. Trainer Chad Brown takes over for Linda Rice and he is 40% with new arrivals to his barn on dirt coming off 60+ day breaks ($2.59 ROI).
RACE 4: 2-1/1A-4
#2 HEAVY ROLLER should have won four starts back, but ended up coming up short and is still in search of that elusive 10th career win. He is versatile enough to be placed anywhere early, and he’ll get a check for today’s effort.
RACE 5: 4-3-2-6
#4 STORM ADVISORY goes first off a claim by Rob Atras after showing some early life then fading late last time out. Atras is 29% with dirt sprinters first off of claims ($2.15 ROI) and he figures to get a decent pace setup.
RACE 6: 5-9-2-1
Trainer Rudy Rodriguez is 6 for his last 12 at this meet and that spans a total of 4 racing days. He’s moving #5 DEVIOUS MO down in class, and this figures to be the right class level. The pace in his last start was also very hot.
RACE 7: 1-3-5-8
#1 WARDENOFTHENORTH drops in class for trainer Linda Rice after showing nothing against allowance foes when last seen late in 2020. He is an off the pace type who figures to benefit from the pace scenario here, and Rice is 22% with dirt sprinters off 100-200 day breaks in sprint races ($2.11 ROI).
RACE 8: 2-6-8
#2 BIG ENGINE was wide the entire way last time out on the final day of a 4-day stretch of strong inside biases. He wound up finishing a game second and is spotted realistically today from a class perspective.
RACE 9: 3-1-7
#3 AMUSE is looking to finish her career with a stakes win as she drops in class following a dull effort against GII competition last time out. She should get a strong pace to run at here and this is her best distance.
RACE 10: 3-5-4-1
#3 DANEGELD was bet down to 5-1 in his last start, a 25k maiden event common among a number of runners in this field. He was wide much of the way on a surface where the rail was gold. Having that race behind him should help him improve in here.
