Nick Tammaro’s Aqueduct Analysis – Sunday, April 18

AQUEDUCT – 4/18/2021

RACE 1: 7-4-5

#7 DR ARDITO is the one to beat getting more ground at second asking after a promising debut. He received serious support at the windows that day and looms a heavy favorite once again.

RACE 2: 1-2-5

#1 VIOLENT POINT is the one to catch from the inside for trainer Chris Englehart as she changes surfaces.  This daughter of Violence is equally adept on turf or dirt and has had some misfortune on the weeds.  An aggressive ride would help her cause in here.

RACE 3: 9-8-4

#9 BUSTINMYGROOVE hails from a white hot barn given that Oscar Barrera III had a couple of wins here on Friday. This daughter of Laoban faced much tougher in her first start off a claim and now figures to get an ideal trip stalking outside in here.

RACE 4: 6-3-7

You’re just supposed to believe that #6 WICKED AMBER is better on the turf than her rivals in this field.  She is versatile in that she’s been effective sprinting, and her effort last time out was solid.  Eric Cancel is getting aboard and that’s a positive.

RACE 5: 6-1-8-2

#6 VALMONT can be dangerous if allowed to get the early lead this afternoon.  He has won over this course from just off the pace, and he meets a largely paceless bunch here.  Pablo Morales has been at his best when he rides his mounts aggressively.

RACE 6: 5-3-1

#5 ALTAF returns from a lengthy layoff after a smashing maiden win in her first dirt start last year.  She was entered in the CCA Oaks before being scratched that morning and now re-surfaces after an injury.  She still has a great deal of upside and will get a solid pace to run at late today.

RACE 7: 1-3-5

It appears as if likely heavy favorite #1 LAOBANONAPRAYER will be very tough to beat this afternoon.  She drops in class back to the NY bred ranks and should get a slightly more alert ride today than she did when a disappointing second back in January.  There’s also plenty of pace signed on to setup her late run.

RACE 8: 2-1-3

The lack of pace in here should work in the favor of #2 INGRASSIA, who is not slow.  She was within range of a white hot pace last time out at Belmont over a boggy course and she should have no problem getting to the front early in this affair.

RACE 9: 10-3-11

#10 BAY JEWEL returns to the turf for just the 2nd time, and is now in the care of Jorge Abreu.  She showed ability in that lone turf try and Abreu’s runners have been firing on all cylinders.

AQUEDUCT STATS: 323-89-57-38           $525.40
