AQUEDUCT – 2/27/22

RACE 1: 3-1-2

#3 SCHOOL OF THOUGHT is from a barn that’s heated up of late and now drops back in for a tag.  This class relief will greatly help her chances, and she faced considerably better last time headed by the winner, Divine Perfection.

RACE 2: 6-2-4-3

#6 MR. BUCKLEY is the one to catch this afternoon as he drops in for a tag.  He shouldn’t have terribly much company on the front end and meets a hungry group of rivals that lack a great deal of ability.

RACE 3: 2-1-3-5

#2 HAPPY FARM goes first off a claim by Rudy Rodriguez and this veteran should get a favorable pace stalking trip. He has spent the majority of his career facing better competition and now looks to be in the right class level for this high percentage barn.

RACE 4: 1-3-6-5

There’s no denying that #1 INFEASIBLE has been unimpressive in two prior starts, but he takes the biggest class drop in racing.  The inside post is not ideal, but he should show more early energy on the drop.  The biggest negative will be his closing odds.

RACE 5: 4-6-7-2

With an abundance of speed signed up in this affair, #4 GREATEST LOVE is a major late threat.  She cuts back in distance second off a claim by Linda Rice and should be a square price thanks to the competitive nature of this bunch.  Look for her in the late stages.

RACE 6: 2-6-5-1

#2 FLYING WITH ANGELS has consistently run faster races than most of his rivals in this field.  He drops a notch in class for Kelly Rubley and figures to be a late threat.  The weight break is another positive and the absence of a deserving favorite makes this one intriguing.

RACE 7: 8-1-7-4

#8 SECRET RULES has always been at his best at Aqueduct and now gets a key rider switch.  He has competed favorably of late and figures to be in a good stalking spot from the outset.  The strength of this field will help him go off a decent price.

RACE 8: 5-11-1-2

There’s an abundance of speed in this bulky field and #5 BYHUBBYHELLOMONEY is interesting from off the pace.  She was compromised by a slow pace last time out and still ran on well, so give her a long look here.

RACE 9: 3-7-4-9

#3 BEE BIT goes first off a claim for trainer Rob Atras and was compromised last time out by a wide trip. This is likely a more reasonable class level and she can lay off the pace in this bulky field.  There’s enough speed on paper to set up a late bid.
