Nick Tammaro’s Aqueduct Analysis – Sunday, February 28

AQUEDUCT – 2/28/2021

RACE 1: 1-6-2

#1 TEKILA showed marked improvement last time out when second in a key race that has since yielded two winners.  She should be able to protect the inside with some early speed.

RACE 2: 6-4-1-5

#6 SKY KITTEN has raced against the grain of the track in two straight starts and now figures to get a decent pace setup against a weak field.  Thanks to the low percentage connections, you’ll get a square price here too.

RACE 3: 6-2-1

The trip endured by #6 EMPTY TOMB last time out was rather unfortunate, as he was likely best given the way he finished after a poor start.  The winner came back to narrowly miss in Saturday’s Stymie, and this son of Speightstown now has an ideal outside post to stalk and pounce on the return to one mile.

RACE 4: 6-7-1

#6 AJHAR was stuck on the slower inside paths last time out and still ran credibly to finish 4th against MSW competition.  He fits well at this class level and should be a major threat in the lane.

RACE 5: 7-3-6

#7 INVALUABLE just looks better than her competition in this field and seems to be positioned ideally on the outside so that Manny Franco can survey the situation out of the gate.

RACE 6: 5-8-1

#5 REED KAN was dull in his last start but now looms the controlling speed a notch down on the class ladder.  He has always been at his best on the engine and figures to get the right trip in here.

RACE 7: 6-2-7

#6 WICKED TRICK came back from a lengthy layoff with a credible race 15 days ago.  He now goes 2nd off the bench over his favorite racetrack and figures to have a red-hot older mare to run down in the late stages.

RACE 8: 7-2-1

#7 YEROSILVERBIZ was wide throughout in his last start and now cuts back in distance for trainer Rob Atras.  He meets softer foes than he did in his last and only has #2 SINASHACK to worry about in here.
