RACE 1: 6-5-4
#6 DANGEROUS EDGE gets a slight nod over the suspicious class dropper #5 OBSESSED. It appears as if one of those two will get the job done given their complementary running styles.
RACE 2: 9-6-8
#9 FLOWER’S FORTUNE has faced significantly better and has raced against the grain of the track on multiple occasions of late. This is her spot to graduate as a heavy favorite.
RACE 3: 1-6-3
#1 FROSTED ICE was wide last time out on a day when the rail was as good as it was all winter. He now goes 3rd off a layoff and 2nd off a trainer change and should be able to enjoy a solid trip from the inside.
RACE 4: 11-4-3
#11 TREVISE will benefit from having a race behind him given the way she performed last time out. She was buried inside and well off a moderate pace for the trip and wound up making a good late move. The likely heavy favorite is a tad untrustworthy given the distance of today’s affair.
RACE 5: 5-3-8
#5 MISSION WRAPITUP takes a pretty sizable drop in class for trainer Mertkan Kantarmaci having faced hardened veteran NY breds last time out. He was also wide much of the way and figures to be in a better spot to succeed here, especially if he can get more involved early.
RACE 6: 4-3-5
#3 MONTAUK TRAFFIC is a late runner who came over the top to win last time out going away. He overcame not only a slow pace but a significant rail bias that day to win in most impressive fashion. Though the waters are deeper today, he was simply too impressive last time to not try at a square price.
RACE 7: 9-3-2
While trainer Chad Brown generally does better with turf routers, #9 LOVE AND THUNDER has landed in a very soft field for her North American debut. She has some early foot and that will help in here given the dearth of pace.
RACE 8: 5-3-2-7
There were some interesting long shot possibilities in here that are scratched, so #5 WICKED HAPPY is the one to beat. She returns to turf, her preferred surface, and wound up facing a very strong field for the level when last seen on the weeds last November.
