Nick Tammaro’s Aqueduct Pick 6 Selections & Analysis – Saturday, January 7, 2023

AQUEDUCT – 1/7/23

RACE 5: 9-2-1-4

#9 DOCTOR LOVE goes first off a claim for Tom Morley, whose barn does well with these types.  Over the last five years, Morley is 26% with dirt routers first off a claim ($3.28 ROI) and this son of Cairo Prince should have a pace stalking trip this afternoon.

RACE 6: 2-5-9-4

#2 FABULOUSLY FUNNY is a firster by Practical Joke, whose progeny hit at a 19% clip.  The dam here was a one-time winner and she has dropped 5 winners from 7 to race.  This barn is more than capable of having one ready on debut as well.\

RACE 7: 8-9-7-4

#8 GRUMPS LITTLE TOTS is working his way back into form for trainer Charlie Baker after a good runner-up effort last time out.  He has form from years gone by that would make him tough to handle here and the pace should work in his favor.

RACE 8: 4-1-6-5

The distance is the only real issue for #4 LUGAN KNIGHT, who has kept good company so far in his brief career.  He made a strong move before flattening out last time at Churchill when 3rd behind subsequent stake winner Victory Formation.

RACE 9: 1-2-3-7

With one more speed horse signed up after the re-draw of this race, #1 FOREWARNED has a slightly better chance to pull off an upset.  He is a late runner who has always been at his best here at Aqueduct and he gets a pass for his poor recent run at Laurel.

RACE 10: 7-9-1-12

#7 FIRING CAROL can be a late threat here at a price for Ricardo Legall, who scored two wins here on opening day.  This gal ran an improved race last out and is in decent form while in the midst of a big, evenly matched field.
