AQUEDUCT – 1/27/23
RACE 1: 2-3-5-1
#2 UKRAINIAN PRINCESS is the one to beat off a debut where she broke slowly then had to rally into the pace behind a runaway leader. She wound up 3rd at 5-1 and now gets Lasix while retaining the weight break. Look for this gal to be more involved early with a cleaner break from the gate.
RACE 2: 2-7-6-5
The drop in class should greatly help #2 BLUE PAYNT, who undoubtedly faced better last time out. This Mertkan Kantarmaci trainee comes back off that 40k try in for 32k, a level at which she ran well two and three starts ago over this oval. Her inside post is no issue either given the increased speed she’s shown of late.
RACE 3: 1-2-3-6
#1 VAZ is the one to catch from the inside today after showing speed and fading last time out. That was a solid field for the level, which was proven by the runner-up coming right back to break her maiden. This daughter of Sharp Azteca is the one to catch and an aggressive ride would help her chances.

RACE 4: 5-4-2-3
#5 REUNION TOUR was mired down on the inside last time out when 2nd at 4-1 going two turns. The winner of that race has since returned to score with a 70 Beyer figure and this guy is once again in light with the triple bug aboard. He can be in stalk and pounce range here at a decent price if the morning line sticks.
RACE 5: 6-5-3-3
If there is a “best bet of the day” it is #6 PATTY H, whose farm is totally darkened after having serious gate issues in two straight. In each of her last two starts a rival took her path coming out of the gate and she lost precious ground. When you’re a one way speed type that is a horrific occurrence and contributes to her two “bad” looking running lines of late.
RACE 6: 2-6-8-5
All signs point to #2 SALUTE TO AMERICA being tough here given his drop in class back to the N2L claiming level after trying straight 3YOs last time out. This pace should heat up, and that will definitely help this son of American Freedom. His price should also be respectable in a somewhat competitive bunch.

RACE 7: 6-9-1-8
The right horse to try at a price is #6 RYAN’S CAT. He warmed up beautifully before his last but ended up badly pace compromised both because of the early tempo and the clear track profile that day. If you tried to make up ground you had no chance whatsoever that afternoon. This is the right class level and he’ll get the needed pace help today.
RACE 8: 4-3-1-6
#4 HELICOPTER MONEY is a second timer who took some money on debut for Tom Morley when he debuted back in November over this strip. He now drops in for a tag and gets Lasix and a cleaner break from the gate will help his chances. Morley is 3 for his last 4 with maidens on dirt getting Lasix for the first time.
