AQUEDUCT – 3/31/23

RACE 1: 2-6-1-5

#2 RANDOMIZED is the one to beat as the main speed for Chad Brown as she gets Lasix for the first time at second asking.  She showed plenty of early foot on debut back in July of last year and meets a weak bunch off the bench.  Should she improve at all she’ll prove tough to handle.

RACE 2: 4-5-3-2

#4 UKRAINIAN PRINCESS has the speed to stay within range from the outset today and was wide last out on a day where saving ground was beneficial.  She is quick enough to be a factor from the opening bell today and this field compares favorably to the one she met in late February.

RACE 3: 6-1-3-2

#6 CURBSTONE gets a rider switch after chasing outside last time out on a day where being inside was advantageous.  He was ridden much too passively that day and should be more forwardly placed today under Manny Franco.  If he runs back to his 2 and 3 back efforts he’ll be impossible to beat.

RACE 4: 7-8-5-2

#7 OK HONEY is the one to beat second off a layoff for trainer Gustavo Rodriguez following a good runner-up run here at the Big A.  She fits well at this class level and came back none the worse for wear in her 2023 debut following a voided claim to end things last year.

RACE 5: 7-1-5-8

#7 PAROS rallied well into the pace last out while wide on a day when being inside was beneficial.  He’ll be a strong late threat today in a weaker field than the race he exits, and he should get some pace to run at in this affair.

RACE 6: 7-1-4-6

#7 CUPIDS GIRL likely prefers a dry surface and gets onto one today following a dull run last time out 3 weeks ago.  She lures Jose Lezcano in search of a second career win and should be a fair price in a competitive heat.

RACE 7: 5-2-3-6

#5 DR. KRAFT ran a big race to be 3rd in the Gander last out and now drops back in class for trainer Chris Englehart.  He is a late running type who looks like the main alternative to #2 NINETEEN OYSTERS, who is going to be a heavy favorite in this affair.

RACE 8: 4-6-5-3

#4 GHOSTSTRYDER goes 2nd off a layoff for trainer Bill Morey and gets some class relief after facing a soft 40k field last out.  He got no pace to run at that day and should be more involved early today in a softer paced race.
