AQUEDUCT 3/25/23

RACE 1: 1-4-3-2

#1 MELTING SNOW seemingly gets claimed every time she runs, but not today given the starter allowance restriction.  She is the one to catch from the inside and is likely to get loose in the opening stages for the underrated Charlie Baker.

RACE 2: 2-3-1A-7

#2 PRINTRACK is the one to beat as the main speed on the inside and fits nicely at this class level.  The odds here will drift south of 1-1, but this stable has been rolling of late and the pace scenario plays out in his favor.

RACE 3: 5-1-4-8

#5 BASIC TRUTH is getting Lasix for the first time dropping in class while in light with the double bug aboard.  The lead is likely his for the taking and that makes him a major player at what should be a good price.

RACE 4: 8-2-1-7

#8 KANT HURRY LOVE ran a bang-up race last time out when she flew for 2nd beaten a nose after a horrible break.  Things are sure to go more smoothly this time out, and while there are some real rivals in here, she is the one to beat with a cleaner trip likely.

RACE 5: 8-6-1-5

#7 TONAL IMPACT is a late runner who’ll get the best of the setup today in this elongated 11 furlong trip.  He is the class of the race as well and should be rolling in the final couple of furlongs as the pacesetters falter.

RACE 6: 5-4-7-6

While it still remains to be seen if the speed figure earned by #5 ASMODEUS will hold up to long-term scrutiny, what we know is he is the one to beat today.  He now bids for a win at 3rd asking as the likely main speed and has only #4 MOORE’S LAW to deal with this afternoon based on what we see on paper.

RACE 7: 1-3-4-2

#1 SCILLY CAY is a late runner who was compromised by a slow pace last time out and now looks for redemption on a class drop.  The issue here is what exactly we’ll get from #4 EASY DAY coming in from the mid-Atlantic, as his form from Parx towers over these.  ‘Cay is still quite dangerous as the main alternative.

RACE 8: 10-9-5-2

#10 LUNI SIMA is getting some serious class relief after chasing the pace and coming up empty late against a tough N1X field here two weeks ago.  He has been running longer in recent starts and coming up empty late, so the cutback is due to help his chances.  The pace in here is unlikely to stay as well.

RACE 9: 6-9-11-8

#6 MOVIE MOXY is back on short rest following a solid effort against a tough open company field for Linda Rice.  She is in a good spot from a pace perspective given the likelihood that things heat up on the front end.  The competitive nature of this field will lead to her being a good price.

RACE 10: 5-11-10-4

#5 HAMMERIN AAMER gets the right setup here coming from off the pace for trainer Chris Englehart.  He was a touch wide last time out on a day when you wanted to be positioned towards the inside.  There’s also an abundance of pace signed up in here, which only figures to help his chances.
