AQUEDUCT 11/19/22

RACE 1: 6-2-1-7

#6 QUARREL is a half to the stakes placed turf router Daunt and finally gets his first opportunity on the lawn.  He is stretching out in distance to boot and that should make him a forward factor in this field.  The majority of late season 2YO turf routes are dominated on the front end.

RACE 2: 8-5-2-3

The debut effort of #8 CENTRAL SPEED was very strong. He received a great deal of support at the windows, had early trouble, then unleashed a huge far turn move to reach contention.  Having that experience should bring out his best and he will likely not be favored here.

RACE 3: 5-3-6-2

#5 KINENOS stands to really benefit from the pace scenario in this field with a robust early tempo expected.  This distance can suit him well with a properly timed ride and he should be a fair price in a very competitive heat.

RACE 4: 3-7-2-1

#3 OUR COUNTRY was claimed with an eye on the dirt given the strength of his two efforts last year on this surface.  He is in declining form, but his most recent dirt races make him a major threat.

RACE 5: 8-1/1A-6-3

#8 SLIP MAHONEY is a firster by Arrogate and is out of a Grade I winning dam.  Trainer Brad Cox is opting to run this colt in NY rather than Kentucky, and he appears to be training very strongly.  The distance may be an issue, as he is bred for more ground.  But, in Brad Cox I trust.

RACE 6: 8-7-2-4

#8 DANZIGWITHTHESTARS ran a bang-up race last time out wide on the course on a day when saving ground was essential.  He has been in good form for quite some time for trainer Dominick Schettino and runs like the added ground will do him some good.

RACE 7: 1-2-8-7

#1 CHURCHTOWN is interesting on the move to a mile and a sixteenth off a good effort in the Toronto Cup.  He returns off a brief layoff for a Canadian Hall of Fame trainer and obviously still has plenty of upside.  The price will be very square as well.

RACE 8: 2-1-3-4

#2 EMPEROR’S CAUSE is going to get a fair pace to run at this afternoon and should be a strong late player.  There’s more than enough speed on paper to set up this gelding’s late bid and his best races make him competitive in this affair.

RACE 9: 6-9-3-12

#6 PATRIA is the one to catch and is dangerous given the effort at Saratoga in late July.  She gets an aggressive pilot today and is on her preferred surface this afternoon.  The price should be appealing too in this big competitive field.

RACE 10: 10-11-5-9

#10 K D KAKES is an interesting firster for Robby Falcone, Jr. and comes in with a strong worktab.  She was purchased for 40k at the OBS October sale and is kin to one winner, so there’s reason to believe she’ll be ready on debut.
