AQUEDUCT 2/26/23

RACE 1: 1-2-4-6

#1 TONIGHT WE LOVE is the one to beat in the opener coming in off consecutive runner-up finishes for trainer Carlos Martin.  She has enough tactical speed to stay close and is in light, but the worry is that she is now 0-14.

RACE 2: 6-5-2-1

#6 THINKABOUTIT is poised to score second off a claim taking a massive class drop for trainer Ray Handal.  This barn has had a very strong winter and the race this gelding exits was far tougher than this heat.

RACE 3: 2-6-7-4

#2 TREVOR BARDETTE has run well in two recent outings at this level and looms a player from just off the pace.  Trainer Dave Donk found the right class level for her when he dropped her in for a tag and she should be a deserving favorite today.

RACE 4: 5-1-7-6

#5 VIRADIA stretched out in distance successfully last time out and now bids to make it two straight wins.  She has enough tactical speed to stay in range on the slight cutback today and there is simply not much strong recent form to go on in here.

RACE 5: 5-1-7-3

The last effort from #5 UKRAINIAN PRINCESS was good enough to be given extra consideration today.  She moves up in class but should fit nicely in this spot and once again gets in light with the double bug aboard.

RACE 6: 6-3-2-7

#6 CASALSA comes in off a win against lesser and moves up a notch in class today.  He is the main speed in a race short on early foot this afternoon.  If he runs back to his last, he’ll be tough to handle.

RACE 7: 3-6-2-4

#6 VINTAGE HOLLYWOOD has been knocking on the door of late and should be in an ideal stalking position today.  He made an early move last time out before flattening out and needs a bit more patient ride today from Dylan Davis.  If he can settle and make one run it’ll help his cause.

RACE 8: 2-4-6-5

#2 CURBSTONE is strictly the one to beat moving up in class off two smashing wins against lesser for trainer Tom Morley.  He has good tactical speed and the bug girl Maddy Olver seems to fit him like a glove.  The lead is likely his for the taking and that’s a major weapon going long on dirt.

RACE 9: 4-9-13-2

#4 GEM MINT TEN is a second timer who showed enough on debut to be given the nod here.  Most second time starters improve significantly with some experience, so that is expected here in a race that lacks a standout.
