AQUEDUCT 4/14/23

RACE 1: 3-4-1-6

#3 HOLEY MATRIMONY was wide last time out when well beaten against comparable foes and now bids to rebound with a positive rider switch.  He will offer value at the windows and figures to get a good trip from just off the pace.  Some of his best efforts are good enough to contend without question.

RACE 2: 2-4-5-1

#2 PIT BOSS is a late running type who was way over his head last time out when 4th against 40k sellers.  He has tons of back form that makes him a major threat and he should be a square price as well.  The favorites in here are hardly formidable.

RACE 3: 5-6-2-1

#5 MAC THE PEE H DEE is a major pace threat here second off a layoff for a barn that took the nightcap yesterday in wire-to-wire fashion.  This filly is a winner over this oval and has serious sprint speed.  His last race was a shark tank of turf sprinters and she ran well to simply chase the pace and weaken late.

RACE 4: 1-6-7-5

#1 OUSTER has been in top form for trainer Mark Hennig and fits nicely class-wise going to open company.  He is at his best at a mile based on recent runs and should be in range from just off the pace.  Barring an unforeseen form reversal, he figures to be tough to handle this afternoon.

RACE 5: 10-2-12-7

#10 MAMA BANNED ME made a meaningful late move on debut then flopped in two dirt starts for Tom Morley.  He is a threat to rebound this afternoon at a big price as he shows up with a good new rider as a gelding.  The likelihood of a decent pace here adds to his appeal.

RACE 6: 11-6-5-10

The outside post for #11 LIL COMMISSIONER looks to be the perfect spot as he drops a notch in class off a claim.  He has good tactical speed and Dylan Davis was aboard for a good effort two starts back.  There’s a lot of speed in here, so if he can sit just off the pace and pounce late, his chances improve.  This barn is 11% first off the claim at Aqueduct, good for a $2.35 ROI.

RACE 7: 2-4-5-7

#2 SUNDAESWITHSANDY was up against it last time out when involved in a strong pace going a mile.  This son of Keen Ice is capable of getting loose this afternoon and will be dangerous if left to his own devices on the front end.  He’ll be a better price than he should be based on recent outings.

RACE 8: 6-4-1-7

#6 LEM ME DRINK has back turf form and returns off a layoff for trainer Bruce Levine today on a major class drop.  She needn’t be much to contend for top honors today and will be a fair price at the windows.  There’s not much to base an opinion on in this field.
