AQUEDUCT – 4/28/23

RACE 1: 1-3-2-5

#1 NOBLEANDGREENOUGH gets the nod in the opener with the experienced runners lacking any appeal.  This daughter of Always Dreaming, just a 4% debut sire, is out of a mare who was a 3x winner that produced one winner from as many to race.  The rail draw is the only negative for this white hot barn.

RACE 2: 6-3-2-7

The horse to bet in here is #6 ROAD TO REMEMBER, who will almost certainly be a better price than the other contenders.  This mare finally broke her maiden in career start #11 then went on to win again over this oval/. Her season ended with a strong effort in defeat and she now meets a soft bunch for her 2023 unveiling.

RACE 3: 1-3-7-6

Perhaps the wedding already happened, but #1 PERFECT SENORITA is a definite candidate to go 2-2 here.  She breaks from the rail but has speed, gets Lasix for the first itme, and posted speed figures in her unveiling that would make her formidable this afternoon.  The low percentage connections will drive many away, but she shouldn’t be dismissed too easily.

RACE 4: 5-4-3-6

#5 ANILEATE ships in from Maryland for Brittany Russell and gets back to turf.  That looks like her preferred surface based on what we’ve seen in recent outings.  She was a game winner off a long layoff on the lawn late in 2022 and faces weaker today than she did that afternoon.  The pace should be there for this daughter of Pioneerof the Nile.

RACE 5: 1/1A-5-2-9

#1 BOURBON BAY is staying at the 12.5k class level off a runner-up effort behind a runaway winner last time out.  He stretches out in distance for trainer Antonio Arriaga, who sports terrific numbers with these types (21%, $2.52 ROI) and he’ll be in a prominent spot throughout.

RACE 6: 8-6-3-7

#8 BUSTIN BULLET comes back from a layoff after posting a lifetime top in her final try of 2022. She should have speed to offer here and draws favorably on the outside.  The layoff is the only real concern here.

RACE 7: 6-7-5-1

#6 DOT’S DOLLAR is back on short rest after crushing a weaker field here a week ago.  Linda Rice is excellent with this move, hitting at a 25% clip bringing back dirt starters off of wins in a week or less ($2.76 ROI).

RACE 8: 2-1A-9-7

#2 DRINK THE WIND was beaten at a short price last time out and now drops in class after being a voided claim.  While that’s not the most conventional set of circumstances to end up a short priced favorite, he is a standout in this bunch.  The inside won’t hurt as he can stalk and pounce late.
