BELMONT PARK – 10/22/21

RACE 1: 5-2-4-6

#5 SOMEDAY MAYBE is a second timer taking the biggest class drop in racing having debuted against MSW competition.  She showed some early foot that day before fading and received a decent amount of support at the windows.  While this drop is a tad more significant than you’d think, she’s obviously priced to win.

RACE 2: 12-9-7-4

The ride that #12 HOT DOCTOR got last time out simply made no sense whatsoever. He had worked his way into a good position before losing ground without being urged in the lane.  The fact that he has speed and outside post should lead to another pace stalking trip, and you’ll get a better price today.

RACE 3: 2-3-5

#2 SINGLE SOUL did everything but win last time out when second beaten a nose at 9/5.  She should be an even shorter priced favorite today based on that performance, and the fact that the field in here is weaker than what she met last time out.  The tactical speed this gal possesses is a major asset as well.

RACE 4: 3-2-6-1

The improvement shown last time out by #3 LIVEYOURBEASTLIFE is encouraging, as he finally showed some of the ability he had earlier in his career.  The fact he’s faced considerably tougher foes in recent starts makes him a major threat here as a live longshot.

RACE 5: 9-4-1-6

The debut effort of #9 ASYMMETRIC was solid in that he made up serious late ground after breaking poorly.  He should improve with that race behind him, and the winner of his debut looks like a very serious NY bred.  If he can get out of the gate in one piece and get to a comfortable spot, he’ll be tough to handle.

RACE 6: 1-2-5-4

The speed of the race is #1 SAILINGINTOTHEWIND, who hails from a high percentage barn that has long done well in NY.  With a limited number of starters, trainer Brittany Russell is hitting at a 13% clip in NYRA turf races, good for a $5.33 ROI.  Look for this one to be ridden aggressively from the outset in here.

RACE 7: 1-8-6-4

Given she didn’t have an opportunity last time out because she lost her rider, #1 SAFFRON MOON gets another chance today.  She showed some life on debut when 4th behind a solid winner and should really benefit from the added ground.

RACE 8: 2-6-4-11

Going back to his last start for Chad Brown, #2 ABUSE OF POWER offers plenty to like today.  She was wide on the course much of the way and that kept her from running down subsequent stakes winner Robin Sparkles.  While moving horses up off of Chad Brown is never easy, this one is interesting.

RACE 9: 8-10-3-2

#8 WOLFIE’S DYNAGHOST was no factor at Churchill last time out and now returns to NY and the turf.  He has the speed to be a factor from the start in here and ran a very solid race two back going long on the weeds at the Spa.  The outside post should facilitate a pace stalking trip and he will offer serious value at the windows.

RACE 10: 8-11-3-5

There is no great mystery in the nightcap, as #8 HOT ROD RUMBLE is clearly the one to beat.  He tried to wire the field last time out and was run down late.  He is likely to get command early in here and is clearly improving with experience.

BELMONT FALL STATS: 198-45-35-23            $355.80
