Nick Tammaro’s Belmont Analysis – Saturday, October 30, 2021

BELMONT PARK – 10/30/21

RACE 1: 6-8-3

#6 I’LL GO ALL IN endured enough trouble on debut for trainer Juan Vazquez to be given another shot today.  She needn’t be much to contend here in a scratch-reduced field.

RACE 2: 8-7-12-1

#8 BLESS BLESS is a new gelding on debut for trainer Michelle Nevin and is out of a dam who is a half to Startup Nation.  This colt is training well for his unveiling and should offer value in a race where the experienced runners are not appealing.

RACE 3: 4-2-3-5

#4 SHIPSATIONAL improved to win the Bertram Bongard last time out and now goes another furlong.  He still has upside given the quality shown so far and he’ll be in a good position just off the pace in here.

RACE 4: 12-13-9-2

#12 SABREEN is new to the barn of Steve Asmussen after making 7 prior starts for Lynn Chleboroad in Iowa.  She lands in a terrific spot here and has the tactical speed to be a factor from the outset.  The price should be attractive as well.

RACE 5: 7-3-1-8

This is the third start off a layoff for #7 OUR LAST BUCK, who ran into BC Sprint contender Aloha West last time out. He is the outside speed today and has run well on wet surfaces before, so the rain in the forecast will not be a major issue.

RACE 6: 6-1-2-4

The cutback in distance for #6 ESPRESSO SHOT as she goes 3rd off a layoff makes her a major contender today. She should get some pace to run at with speed drawn inside and this mare has been competitive against stakes company in the past.

RACE 7: 1-6-7-5

The debut effort of #1 VENTI VALENTINE was so strong that you have to give her a major look facing winners for the first time.  She was wide the entire way on a day where you wanted to be towards the inside and still stayed on gamely to the finish.  That debut indicates that the extra ground should be well within her scope.

RACE 8: 4-1-6-10

#4 MAKE MISCHIEF cuts back in distance for trainer Mark Casse and she ran a bang-up race when last seen going 9 panels at the Spa.  She is likely better going shorter and the one-turn configuration today is ideal.  She is training forwardly as well for this Hall of Fame barn.

RACE 9: 5-7-8-3

#5 AMERICANREVOLUTION is the one to beat as he drops in class back into the NY bred ranks.  He was a solid 3rdbehind the BC Classic bound Hot Rod Charlie last time out and still has plenty of upside.  Look for him to be just off the contested pace ready to pounce.

RACE 10: 5-4-16-3

#5 KING ANGELO ran a very strong race in July at Belmont on the dirt and is the one to beat on the surface change.  He has the speed to stay within range from the start and lures Irad Ortiz, Jr. for this affair.
