Nick Tammaro’s Belmont Analysis – Sunday, April 25

BELMONT – 4/25/2021

RACE 1: 2-4-3

With the morning line favorite scratched from this spot, #2 SAUCY LADY T will bid to become the second 2YO to win at this meet for James Chapman.  She should be closer to the pace with a cleaner break, as she was away from the gate poorly on debut.

RACE 2: 5-2-4

#5 FIRST LINE drops back down into the claiming ranks for Orlando Noda, as he found starter allowance foes much too tough last time out.  He can handle wet tracks and will be a square price at the windows.

RACE 3: 1-3-6

#1 DETERMINED FURY takes the biggest class drop in racing and should fit well at this level.  The inside post is no bargain, but his two prior efforts make him better than what he meets today.

RACE 4: 3-1-6

#3 BEING ME gets a massive rider upgrade after finishing a competitive 3rd in his second start off a layoff back on April 2. He doesn’t need to improve much to contend in here and will be an attractive price.

RACE 5: 10-5-3-2

#10 O SHEA CAN U SEE is a late runner who rallied into a glacial pace last time out to snag the place dough at 16-1.  He meets a tougher field today, but there should be a very good pace in this affair.  That makes him a late player as a live longshot.

RACE 6: 12-11-15-16

#12 VOICE OF SPRING should be clear of the maiden ranks, and would be if she had gotten outside a bit earlier in her last start.  The biggest concern here is that this daughter of Commissioner may hate wet tracks and the surface is sloppy. Nonetheless, she is a must bet based on recent efforts.

RACE 7: 1-10-6

#1 PENDOLINO is a late runner who’s cutting back in distance.  She ran a bang-up race last time out when given a heady ride.  She showed increased speed that day and stayed on gamely to the finish.  That type of effort makes her a contender here at a big price.

RACE 8: 5-2-4

#5 ICED LATTE has dran an ideal outside post and figures to be a tough customer in her first try against winners.  She will be the 2nd choice in here and that can be considered value given the upside this filly still possesses.

RACE 9: 13-5-8-6

#13 AFLEETING GLANCE is a late runner who was pace compromised last time out facing tougher company.  She was able to benefit from a big inside bias two back, but took a step forward in her first start against winners and should fit well in here.

BELMONT STATS: 17-7-2-1 $28.20
