RACE 1: 8-1-9
#8 BORU looks a cut better than his rivals here shipping in from California for Vladimir Cerin. His speed is a major weapon, and Irad Ortiz, Jr taking the call is another positive.
RACE 2: 3-4-2
#3 NY TRAFFIC returns off a layoff and drops in class for high percentage trainer Saffie Joseph, Jr. He is simply a lot better than the rivals he meets today.
RACE 3: 1-2-9
#1 KING JAMES switches surfaces after showing speed on debut. He has a strong pedigree for turf and should improve with not only a race behind him, but a surface switch.
RACE 4: 10-5-6
#10 GEARHEAD was a game 3rd last time out, albeit against weaker, but figures to get a good trip here as the longest price of the real win candidates. Hot riding Trevor McCarthy had a big day Saturday, winning 4 races.
RACE 5: 1-3-2
#5 BLITZ TO WIN faces NY breds for the first time after facing tough customers in open company at Gulfstream. He showed increased speed last time out and that’s undoubtedly an encouraging sign.
RACE 6: 3-1-6
#3 TOLAGA BAY figures to get a great pace setup as he returns off a layoff for Arch Kingsley. His win before the layoff was good enough to contend fir top honors here.
RACE 7: 7-6-8
#7 PUBLIC SECTOR was an impressive debut winner then was pace compromised at 2nd asking due to a slow pace. This should be an honestly run race, and he doesn’t have to improve much to contend here.
RACE 8: 3-4-1
In what should be a rider’s race, #3 OUR SUPER FREAK has a potential edge given that she can stay the distance and has excellent tactical speed. She has largely faced much better of late also.
RACE 9: 4-3-9
#4 COUNT DOWN has good early speed and should control this race from the start. His best races look much too good for these runners and make him a prohibitive favorite.
