BELMONT PARK – 6/10/23

RACE 1: 7-6-5-3

#7 FAST BUCK FREDDY is a firster by Fast Anna, a 12% debut sire and is out of an unraced dam.  Trainer Jorge Abreu is above average with firsters and this one appears to be training very strongly for this unveiling.

RACE 2: 1/1A-2-5-7

The Bill Mott-trained entry of #1 BOLD JOURNEY and #1A SOSUA SUMMER is formidable in that each can win.  The former comes off of a nice effort here going 7 panels and has the tactical speed to stay close throughout.

RACE 3: 6-5-2-7

#6 METEORITE is the one to beat off of a solid debut and a barn change to Todd Pletcher.  If he is able to get the lead early, which he should given the race he ran on debut, they’ll have a hard time catching him late.

RACE 4: 1-3-5-2

#1 IN ITALIAN is clearly the horse to beat as the main speed this afternoon.  She is the best horse in this division until proven otherwise and is the main speed.  Provided she gets some separation on the field early, she will be tough to handle.

RACE 5: 5-4-3-8

The two prior runs from #5 ICE ROAD on dirt make him a major threat from a speed figure perspective.  He is now in the care of Jose D’Angelo, who does well with horses off of trainer changes, and the price here should be more than fair.

RACE 6: 8-7-5-2

#8 DOT’S DOLLAR has been in very strong form of late and should be in position from the start this afternoon.  He was a good second last out against a tough customer and will be in a prime spot turning for home.

RACE 7: 12-11-2-7

The last effort from #12 MR. KRINGLE was very strong and should position him well for a cutback in distance.  The best races he’s run over the years make him competitive today and he gets in light with the bug boy astride this afternoon.

RACE 8: 7-4-3-2

All signs point to #7 WAR LIKE GODDESS being very tough to handle today given that there should be enough pace to set up her late run.  She will have to move sooner going 10 panels than she has in recent outings at marathon trips, but she has a tremendous late kick.

RACE 9: 6-8-5-1

#6 PRETTY MISCHIEVOUS is the horse to beat off a tremendous win in the Kentucky Oaks.  She should get a strong pace to run at this afternoon and the favorites are suspect at the distance.  If she can sit back and make one run then she will be very tough to handle.

RACE 10: 2-5-3-11

#2 SISKANY is the likeliest winner on the card and should be very tough to handle today.  He is a true distance horse who will be in an ideal stalking position this afternoon.  This barn has excelled in this country and he will be well backed at the windows.

RACE 11: 7-8-3-5

#7 BUBBLE ROCK was a game winner of the License Fee and has the versatility to be positioned anywhere early.  She has improved steadily in two starts earlier this year and should be a major player in the stretch drive.
