SARATOGA – 9/3/21
RACE 1: 5-4-2-1
#5 WILD APPEAL is the one to beat as a second timer getting the biggest class drop in racing. This colt faced a tough field on debut and never fired, but the drop in for a tag should help his chances.
RACE 2: 3-5-1-2
#3 BUBBLE ROCK looks rather formidable off a debut effort where she did everything but win. She has good tactical speed and figures to be within range from the opening bell under Irad Ortiz, Jr.
RACE 3: 3-5-1-2
#3 RISK PROFILE is clearly the one to catch in this affair, as there is little to no pace on paper and he gets some class relief. Look for leading rider Luis Saez to try to get control at once.
RACE 4: 5-1-3-7
Though #5 RUSE had a very easy time of it on the front end last time out, he should get a similar soft trip this time around at a better price. There’s little to no speed in this affair and this Tim Hills trainee always showed talent.
RACE 5: 8-5-2-3
#8 LITTERBOX is the only interesting runner in the field as he gets an upgrade at pilot and a strong pace to run at in the late stages. He has competed well at this level and should offer value at the windows.
RACE 6: 2-3-5-9
#2 HOWDYOUMAKEYOURMONEY is interesting on the surface change. She’s a Freud, so there’s reason to believe she’ll take to the turf, and she has speed. The inside post won’t be as much of a problem given her early foot.
RACE 7: 1-4-8-3
Though things aren’t going the same for MIke Maker as they were at the beginning of the meet, #1 CHOCOLATE BAR is a major player moving back to turf. He has a cozy inside post and should save ground from the start under Ricardo Santana, Jr. The presence of two pace players only helps as well.
RACE 8: 5-1-3-4
#5 LUNA’S IN CHARGE was bad on turf last time out and now returns to the main track. He should get some pace to run at and will be a big price based on an ugly running line on the wrong surface.
RACE 9: 8-4-7-5
#8 MAVEN just might be too fast early for these runners. He is the main speed from an outside post and figures to be loose in the opening stages. If he is able to get clear and relax at any point, he’ll be very tough to handle.
RACE 10: 4-9-7-2
#4 LADY VALENTINE is a third time starter who has shown serious ability in her first two outings. She looms the main speed from the inside and Luis Saez has won the number of races he has at this meet by being aggressive.
