SARATOGA – 8/19/21
RACE 1: 1-4-2
#1 TRUE CASTLE has knocked on the door of late, earning a runner-up finish most recently against slightly tougher in her first start off a claim. She has drawn a poor inside post, but there’s enough speed to her outside to set the table for a late run. Her recent training appears to be quite solid as well.
RACE 2: 5-7-3
The pedigree for #5 INEVTABL CONECTION is there, and he appears to be training well for the underrated barn of Steve Klesaris. This colt is the third foal to race out of an unraced dam, and her prior two were solid. The rest of this field hardly looks tough, so take a shot.
RACE 3: 3-1-6-9
With the scratches here, #3 ROSEY’S PEACH is the one to beat. She faces a compact and largely talent-challenged bunch.n
RACE 4: 5-1-2
The debut performance of #5 MORE MOONSHINE was shockingly good, as she rolled by her competition to score going away. She is going to catch a wet track again and should have no issue with the added ground. Whether her last win was augmented by a fast pace is the only real question.
RACE 5: 3-4-5-1
#3 SHALIMAR GARDENS stands to benefit from having a race behind her, and now returns off a brief break. Though she faced softer in her unveiling, she showed real potential and should be in an ideal stalking spot just off the pace this afternoon. Her recent training indicates she’s ready to take a step forward as well.
RACE 6: 2-6-1-7
#2 GOLD PANDA ran a solid race on debut and now figures to step forward with a race behind him. He didn’t have much speed to offer in his unveiling, but the recent morning activity suggests that may no longer be the case. Look for him to come out with his mind on business.
RACE 7: 7-10-11
Trainer Phil Bauer has found the path of least resistance in getting #7 CLAYTNTHELIONHEART through his conditions – entering him as an MTO. He is going to be a solid favorite in here to pick up his 2nd straight win after dominating N1X competition. This is a tougher field than the one he dismissed on July 30, but he is much faster than them on paper.
RACE 8: 2-7-6-9
#2 SUSPENDED CAMPAIGN is a late runner dropping in class who will face softer in here than she did in her last start. Things should be competitive on the front end in this affair and it will only help this daughter of Honor Code. You should get a square price here to boot.
RACE 9: 1-3-6
#1 SADIE LADY is the most formidable NY bred sprinting female around, but this field is still shockingly weak. This fleet-footed daughter of Freud is the one to catch and has blossomed as a 5YO, winning two stakes including one against open company. Look for her to try to take control from the outset.
RACE 10: 6-5-11-12
#6 LA VICTORIA certainly hasn’t lived up to her rich purchase price or flashy pedigree, but she is now in a spot where she is supposed to win. She came up a head short in a race that was better than it looks on paper last time out, and she now figures to be in an ideal stalking spot under Joel Rosario.
