On the Horizon – Gulfstream Park – Friday(December 30, 2022) – John Pinder

Late Pick 5 sequence:

Race 5 SELECTIONS:   6  –  1  –  3

#6 New York Thunder made his debut about a month ago on the All-Weather and it was impressive.  Since then his workout continue to prove out the speed shown back in November.  Due to the big speed rating that he received there are bound to be overlooked runners.  The others in the race with a chance are  #1 Three Zero and #3 Takecareofbusiness

Race 6 SELECTIONS:   6  –  1

#6 Mama Maria is one of the only runners in todays 6th race with a good improving body of work.  She will be making her 3rd career start and will get the services of high winning percentage jockey Irad Ortiz Jr.  If she runs back to her last race or improves slightly she should be tough to beat.  #1 Flakes is a Frosted filly, who name is very cleaver by the way, is making her debut today and is out of a mare that has produced 2 winners out of 4 starters.

Race 7 SELECTIONS:  1  –  3

#1 Resonancia moves to the Bobby Dibona barn after breaking her maiden last time out with a respectable speed rating; retains the services of Edgar Perez.  #3 Mediation has shown the ability to run fast, sometime early, sometimes late, if he can ration it out a little more effectively he could be a major player.

Race 8 SELECTIONS:   6  –  1

#6 On Thin Ice should get a favorable setup from a pace perspective, third of the layoff for Mark Casse.  #1 Red Hornet just missed last time out at the same level, he has good versatile speed and should get a good trip from the inside post position.

Race 9 SELECTIONS: 7  –  2

#7 Hierro is a very consistent gelding at this level and should be the deserving morning line favorite.  #2 Here Comes Bullet returns to the races after a two month layoff.  Trainer Robert Hess has done a good job with this gelding over the years and should be ready for return.

Let’s make it happen!!!
