Late Pick 5 sequence:
Race 5 SELECTIONS: 8 – 4 – 11 – 9
#8 Demogorgon will be running first off the claim for trainer Claudio Gonzalez. This mare has good early speed and does better on the All-Weather surface, she just missed last time out and the cutback in distance today should help. #4 Boston Princess should also benefit from the reduction in distance. She has been competitive at this level in her two previous attempts and today gets a rider change to Javier Castellano. #11 Zen won by a neck last time out and today will take the next step up to non winners of two lifetime, but will run the same distance over the same surface. #9 Into Touring drops in class for today’s contest for trainer Mark Casse. She has tactical speed and will have to work out a trip, but is worth the investment to include on the ticket.
Race 6 SELECTIONS: 3 – 1 – 8
#3 Free Smoke maybe the smoke was free but this well bred son of Bucchero was not. Bell Racing LLC paid a good amount of money for this colt and will be hoping to see some ROI in his debut today; based on workout times he seems ready. #1 Night Ride is a homebred that has been away from the races for three months, he returns today and will get Lasix for the first time. In his two prior starts he flashed good early speed but was unable to hang on. #8 Mooncapture ran a solid race last time out when he pressed but was unable to catch the leader. Comments in his running lines indicate that he continues to finish on the wrong lead, if he can remedy that maybe he takes another step forward.
Race 7 SELECTIONS: 1 – 6
#1 Chromeplated Heart is very fast away from the gate. Her early pace advantage and the inside draw should help her chances. #6 Crowding Out last race was nothing to write home about, but that was coming off a long layoff and she didn’t stay on with the pace. Today she runs second off the layoff and could be ready to run back to some of her faster times.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 8 – 3
#8 Hard Mission will be making his third lifetime start for the hot trainer-jockey combination of Jonathan Thomas and Jose Ortiz. Today he will return to the All-Weather surface and a similar distance that he won on in debut. #3 Nova Folha has great early speed and will be getting Lasix for the second time; switches to jockey Tyler Gaffalione.
Race 9 SELECTIONS: 1 – 9 – 7
# 1 Parkland looks like the one to beat in today’s finale. His last race was the first for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. and he ran his career best speed figure. Returns from a fifty-seven day break and his workout times in the morning have been strong. #9 Charles Chrome has good versatile speed and just missed at a similar level last time out. He will be running second off the layoff and retains the services of Luis Saez. #7 Lamplighter Jack has great early speed and as the potential for a gate to wire performance. He will go to the front, and if the field allows him to dictate the pace, he will be hard to catch.
Let’s make it happen!!!
