Late Pick 5 sequence:
Race 5 SELECTIONS: 4 – 8 – 9
#4 Galileo’s Jewel will be making her second career start and returning from a three month layoff for trainer Anthony Dutrow. She is a very well-bred turf filly and should improve off an ‘okay’ debut, gets Lasix for the first time. #8 Grace Darling is a pedigree rich filly who will be making her first start in the U.S. for trainer Brian Lynch. Has been training stateside for two months and her workout tab looks impressive. #9 Kayleigh’s Pride has good early speed and should move forward off the layoff, gets Lasix for the first time.
Race 6 SELECTIONS: 2 – 3
#2 C My Meister drops in class and gets the services of Irad Ortiz today, but overall I believe that the inside draw and his ability to run fast early should benefit him the most. #3 Garmento has shown various running styles but this slightly raced four-year-old son of Empire Maker can run he just needs to put it all together. Today he is dropping in class and gets Tyler Gaffalione in the irons.
Race 7 SELECTIONS: 6 – 8
#6 Economic Hangover runs back to the same level as last time when she was beaten by less than two lengths. Today she should have a moderate pace to run at and be able to pass them all before the finish line. #8 Herington Rocket returns to the races after a four month rest for trainer Chad Brown. She is trying the All-Weather for the first time but she has good versatile speed and should be in contention regardless of the pace.
Race 8 SELECTIONS: 3 – 9 – 12
#3 Laniakea Storm gets the meets leading jockey Irad Ortiz in the saddle today as she makes her return from a four month layoff. She is very competitive at this level and trainer Jose D’Angelo is winning near the 20% mark. #9 French Franc fits at this level and this distance like a glove. Her prior two starts were on turf going a mile and sixteenth at a similar level and won and was narrowly beaten in the other. Today she runs for trainer Elizabeth Dobles after being claimed. Jockey Paco Lopez will the in the saddle. #12 Chica Boom should be given consideration because of his ability to sit good trips. All his running lines reveal a very similar pattern, he is nearly always in a good pressing spot when the real running starts.
Race 9 SELECTIONS: 1 – 3 – 6 – 9
#1 Turf King is another Kingsman sired colt. This youngster will be making his first start for trainer Chad Brown and gets Tyler Gaffalione in the irons. #3 Nate the Great ran a solid second on debut last time out and that was at the sometimes tricky distance of 7.5Furlongs. Solid connections and the recent workout tab is also impressive. #6 Stanley House ships in from Woodbine and drops in class for trainer Michael De Paulo; jockey Javier Castellano continues to ride well. #9 Justin’s Legacy was bet well on debut and posted solid pace figures, just missed and will attempt to get the job done here today.
Let’s make it happen!!!
