Late Pick 5 sequence:

Race 5 SELECTIONS:   3  –  4

#3 English Painter was a beaten favorite last time out and today makes his return to a similar class level but on the All-Weather surface.  Second off the layoff for trainer Saffie Joseph Jr. this Munnings colt will be getting Lasix for the first time and is projected to improve.  #4 Commander Flynn also gets Lasix for the first time after breaking his maiden last time out.  Jockey Edgard Zayas will be making his third consecutive mount aboard this Antonio Sano trainee.

Race 6 SELECTIONS:   6  –  7

#6 Pallotta Sisters is a daughter of Cairo Prince that is trained by Graham Motion.  She was beaten three lengths last time out in the grade 3 Jimmy Durante stakes at Del Mar.  Does her best running late but has good speed early, should be a win candidate.  #7 State of Mind ships in from Woodbine and drops in class for trainer Josie Carroll.  Although she has never run on the turf, she is a direct descendant of Kitten’s Joy.

Race 7 SELECTIONS:   2  –  1

#2 One America is a well-bred American Freedom colt that will be making his second start off the layoff; if he improves slightly he will be in contention.  #1 Rabdan returns to the races after a two month layoff for trainer Victor Barboza Jr.  He has shown the ability to run fast in segments of the race, based on the projected pace could have a say near the finish line.

Race 8 SELECTIONS:   1  –  3

#1 J P Hellish has good early speed and is capable of going gate to wire.  #3 Timmy M. has a versatile running style and has been running against open company; gets top jockey Irad Ortiz Jr. in the irons.

Race 9 SELECTIONS:   8  –  3  –  7

#8 Boy o’ Boy is making his fourth lifetime start for the Deaton operation (Breeder, Owner, Trainer).  Returns to the All-weather surface where he showed a little more than last time out.  #3 Portofino is a first-time starter for trainer Joseph Orseno.  Unraced as a two-year old this gelding is out of a Dam that has produced six winners from six starters.  #7 Lawful ran well on debut and was only beaten by less than two lengths, today gets Lasix for the first time and keeps jockey Leonel Reyes.

Let’s make it happen!!!
