On the Horizon – Gulfstream Park Wednesday, January 20, 2020

Hello InTheMoneyMedia Family

Moving forward I will be sharing my thoughts and daily analysis about racing at Gulfstream Park, one for my favorite tracks. I will also be looking to incorporate one of my favorite bet types; the horizontal wager.  If you are reading this blog more than likely you are a fellow horseplayer at some level, and you realize this game has lots to offer and many different ways to go about doing it.  I like looking for winners and stringing together two or more where it makes logical and or financial sense.   As I move along, I will quickly look back at the previous results – attempt to gain insight – then on to the next.  If that sounds like fun, like myself you are a Degenerate!  Join me and let’s attempt to get better at what we do and make some cash.

Wednesday January 20, 2020 – Gulfstream Park – Late Pick 5

CLAIMING PRICE OF $50,000 OR LESS OR CLAIMING PRICE $50,000

#1 Sexy Dream – Ran against softer company last time and took them gate to wire – Slow fractions and being down on the side hurts her changes here – PASS

#2 Shiny Empire – Fits from a early pace perspective and gets Lasix for the 1st time – Jockey – Emisael Jaramillo is great with horses on the front end. – INCLUDE

#3 Sunny Isle Beach – Won 2 of her last 3 and also gets Lasix for the 1st time.  Fits statically, hard riding Luis Saez gets the mount. – INCLUDE

#4 Celestial Cheetah – Was thrown to wolves last time in the G2 Demoisel – comes back to a more accommodating spot but still does not possess the speed to compete yet. – PASS

#5 Pretty Rachel – Took her 4 attempts to break the maiden at a lower level – Pass

#6 Happy Constitution – Gets back to the dirt were she seems to perform best – Figures Fit – IRAD gets the assignment. – INCLUDE

#1 Freedom Matters – Hard trying gelding that will be a victim of pace IMO – Will want to stay with #4 and get slightly extended.  – Timid Pass.

#2 Mony – Pass.

#3 Dominate Themoment – Historical races are average for a small barn.  Johnny V. is in the irons and just seem be back to his old self yet. – Pass

#4 Sir Seamus – Drops slightly and will look to take this field gate to wire – Lots of early speed and could bottom out the competition by the time they reach the stretch.  – Slight concern – he does have the early pace advantage and could have enough to hold on. – Timid INCLUDE

#5 Souper Watson – 3rd of the layoff for Casse who is one of the best when it comes to being patient with young horses and allowing them to mature.  Broke his maiden after a long layoff, then a close up 5th in a race that had little to no pace.  – Value Play – INCLUDE

#6 Espresso Caliente – No Sir – No Ma’am – Pass.

#7 Rhythmia – There is talent here – 2nd of the layoff for Saffie – INCLUDE

#8 Zero Gravity – Potential for improvement here but he does not have the early advantage or the late pop that you like to see on turf. – Not for the win. – Pass
